I've always wanted to get a mother and baby unicorn or pegasus, laying down beside each other nuzzling noses with my baby's name under it in a banner. Two problems...I had a boy LOL and I found out a name in a banner typically means that person is dead. Not good. So I skipped it completely.
In hindsight, if I had a girl, I would still get the tattoo, but get her name and birthdate in calligraphy below it. Or maybe her full name above and birthdate below, kind of in a circle.
Blessings

Two ideas for you: 1. My sister put her daughter's name just under her bikini line. It's her name wrapped up in flowers and vines. Very feminine, but not too girly. 2. A customer had her son's names on her upper arm in a very nice script. Unless you were right beside her, it looked like a pretty arm-band. Other than those, someone else mentioned the zodiac. Take your ideas to a well known tattoo artist and see what they come up with.

Does her name have any special meaning behind it? Maybe you can incorporate that into the tattoo. Or find out what the flower is for her birth month and have that, along with her name, done. Also, I have heard of parents having the hand print of their child tattooed over their heart. That's a nice idea. Good luck!

I got a tattoo of a sunburst on top of my foot and had my daughters initials put in the middle of it in nice cursive writing, they are the sunshine of my life and I think the tattoo symbolizes that.It is the only tattoo I have and I really love it.

Take your child's FOOTPRINT from the birth coach's uniform, or make one as soon as you can (or hand print). Take that to your tattoo artist and have their footprint or hand print tattooed somewhere, with her name underneath it, or bday.
The only tattoo I have now is my sons initials in Japanese letters (they are very simple characters, didn't know if I could handle the pain!!)
Very unique.

I was thinking of doing that with my daughter too, but then i thought to myself... what if if have more kids later? I'll have to get one equally "important" for the second child..
So don't do anything too crazy, at least nothing that you don't want multiples of.

I am quite sure you consider her as your angel so you can get an angel and put her name on one wing and her birthdate on the other.

if you're still breastfeeding, do NOT get a tattoo. Do you have other tattoos. I have two of them, and quite honestly, I regret it.
