My daughter and I are bored. We've played with bricks, watched a cartoon, scribbled with crayons, played with the aqua-draw and I don't want to get the paints out today. (Hung over and its too messy!) Does anyone have any good ideas for games/activities for children this age? (preferably - due to my hangover that don't involve much running around!) thanks!

Plan ahead. Get up in the morning, do as you do. Get your child ready and fed. What i do when I'm feeding my son is put the cbeebies sound track on and clap and dance which makes him smile. Books are great fun! Even if she doesn't want to hear you read the story, flick the pages and show her the bright colours and pictures. Cbeebies.. My son can sit and watch that all day! I know some people don't agree with TV but cbeebies is all about learning, songs, music, dancing and magic! She will love it. Go for a walk. Even in this weather and with a hangover! Stick your rain coats on, Welles, hats n scarf n splash in the puddles together. She will be loving it and so will you. Try it. It will also cure your hang over being outside instead of staying indoors!

they can do coloring, finger painting, puzzles, play with blocks and build things, barbies, toy cars, listen to the wiggles and dance along to D-O-R-O-T-H-Y, Dorothy the Dinosaaaaaur! Or portable DVD players are not too much these days, just get some kids movies. Or.. you get plain biscuits and give them different color icings and smarties and sprinkles, snakes and what not and let them make what they like. I remember that when I was a kid.. Of if there is enough room, maybe an indoor play set. Set up a tent indoors for them to play in, help them make an indoor cubby house. Tonnes of things to keep their little minds amused.

Puzzles...not the 130 pice ones, but the ones that are suttible for toodlers, does are great and very educational. Also painting her toe nails, READING BOOKS...remeber at least 15 minutes a day. Buy a nice children musiq CD and sing and dance with her, my son loves that.

My daughter always loved to re-arrange all the canned goods in the cabinet. It kept her entertained for quite awhile, and there really wasnt anything that could harm her. Also, try taking out photo albums and looking at all the family members, that keeps them busy for a long time!

Be prepared for next time you have a hangover. Get her a trampoline with a handle bar. About £15 from Woolworths or Argos. Mine got on one at 2 and she loved it so much we bought her one. She still uses it now and she is 3.5.
The best thing we ever bought.

theres so many things when you use your creative energy make little paper balls and blow on them so they move around ,stack some plastic cups and knock them down with a ball ,hide your kids favorite animal somewhere obvious and play wheres my favorite animal, play mommy's sick and have your toddler do there best to cover you up on the couch and rub your head ,look at pictures of cute animals on the computer or look at books.play dress up and let her put her clothes on the wrong parts (like pants on your head or get out your socks and let her try to put them on) good luck iwish i had a hang over cure for you but i don't hang in there and look forward to nap time

why not make your own play dough and play with it.

3 cups of flour and 1 cup of salt, food colouring and gradually add water until it is play dough.

or what i do with my 23month old is collect egg boxes and grow plants, watercress etc. go garden centre and pick up some seeds and compost, and plant pots(small enough to go on windowsil) and you can grow your own, letting her help you. wiht making cress collect seeds. put some cotton wool in a egg box and sprinkle a couple of seeds in it and keep cotton wool moist.

or you could make fairy cakes or something.
