I know there was a simliar question not long ago but here is my situation. My ex husband and i share custody or our two boys (8yr and 5yr) We rotate two days during the week and every other weekend. This seems to work fine. Lately though my 8 yr old wants to stay with his father on some of "my days" He has a good friend next door who he always plays with. He tells me gets bored at my house and wants to stay and play with his friends. So my questions is do i let him stay or make him come with me? Also what about his little brother? I don't like to seperate them too much but niether seems bothered by it too much.

I could also have an abortion and that swhat my mom wants me to do but she s letting me make my own decision. and what is so bad about an abortion...???? I just dont know what to do. Im really scared about getting an abortion if thats what i plan to do I dont know if it will hurt or what?

It's not about a power struggle - I think it's anxiety. I've seen some posts here that talk about how to slow down the evening routine (have quiet-time before dinner: replace TV and computer games with reading and music), but I think our 8 year old needs a little extra. We don't want to do melatonin, as there are concerns that he will grow dependent on it. Can you suggest some natural supplements (good for kids), and/or alternative treatments? How effective are some 'specially formulated' music CDs over CDs I could make from my own classical music selection? (Y'know, the ones that claim to help delta wave patterns, etc)

Is there any point to focusing on things labelled as "diaper bags" when shopping for something to be used as ditto? They seem a bit overpriced for such basic-looking tote bags, and I'm inclined to think you can just jam a portable changing pad in the right sort of regular backpack. True?

i always see moms that dont put babies in carseats right, i have such a bad habbit of just fixing it. i can stand that the seat belt is loose or the chest buckle is undone. even they dont put them on at all. it drives me crazy, am i rude for fixing it? i never do it when they are looking but i cant help but to think about a horriable carwreck and the baby not being in the seat right. its so improtant to me. i even bought the safest best carseat on the market for my own son and i double check everything before we leave. i think its an obsession but what would you do if you saw that? would you attempt to fix the problem or would you ignore it? i ahad a friend of mine tell me that she knows a girl that didnt buckle her baby in the seat properly adn didnt shut the door all the way in the car, when she made a turn the door in the car opened and the baby flew out of the carseat and DIED! i was horrified. it might have scared me for life. would you be offended if somone tried to fix yur baby?

My wife's about to have our first child. We're both incredibly excited, as you can imagine but I'm aware that new baby causes new tension in the parents' relationship. Does anyone have any tips as to how best to avoid the screaming matches that I envisage?

With our oldest daughter, she has been going through a really bad "not listening and little miss attitude stage" we try not to spank her unless it is absolutely necessary. We have been taking a way toys from her and when she is good will earn one or two back... Do you think this is a good idea - do you have any good suggestions on how to nip this in the bud without losing our cool?? Thanks :)

My daughter loves lotion, soap, diaper cream, anything she can get her hands on. If I put lotion on her she tries to lick it off. Is this a sign of something serious and is there anything I can do?

I am not trying for a baby as I cannot have children, but I am curious to know if there is anything a couple can do, for example diet or certain positions or having sex at certain times of the month etc...to influence whether the child will be a boy or girl?

I babysat for this lady last spring for 3 Months full time and overtime. Because she was heading for divoice she didn't have the money to pay me till she gets child support. She works as a Activity Directer full time and i believe by now she is getting child support. I have reminded her a couple times and so did my husband cuz he works at same place is her. She has told my husband that my name is on her list ,because she owes other people money! How do i get this woman to pay me? We even told her it can be smaller payments. What would you do??

Ok, I'm 32 weeks pregnant and don't have a new carseat for my baby. I do have an Evenflo Discovery (which I absolutely HATED for a number of reasons) that I used a few times with my first (born in Oct. 2003) and second child (born Feb. 2005). It's been sitting in the garage now for over a year and a half, is mildewy, the fabric is slightly faded. The other day I found an Evenflo Portabout in excellent condition with the base at a thrift store for $5, BUT the umbrella thingy is missing. I couldn't imagine using a carseat without the umbrella. My husband says ok, now you have 2 carseats...we're not buying another one. Just wash the dirty one or use the one without the umbrella. If you have read anything about the Discovery I'm sure you'd be scared to use one too. It has a 3 point harness, not 5, the seat is a pain to get out of the base, the handle on the carseat wobbles and isn't stable. This 3rd child was a surprise so the other carseat was sold last yr. Am I being picky?

I suspect that my girlfriend is trying to get pregnant without me wanting her to. I honestly think she is poking holes in the Condoms and She has stopped taking her birth control pills. For example the other day right before we were about to get intimate I went to get a condom out of my drawer and she interruped me and said "wait I have one" I mean she had to leave the room just to get it...And then she lied to me saying she was still on birthcontrol but I know she hasn't been taking it because I checked. Her behavior is really worrying me. We have talked about a baby and I know that its just not the right time. I might get deployed again and I don't want to miss any part of my childs life. Plus we have only been together a year and I don't think thats long enough. I think it would be better if she finished college and I finished the military. I have honestly thought about breaking up with her because I can't deal with a person who thinks so irrationally. What should I do?

I have been reading a book that says a child at this age should have 3 naps. 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and one in the evening. When i don't give my child the morning nap she seems to sleep longer during her afternoon nap, like a good 2 hours. Other wise she sleeps only 45 min when i give her the morning nap. Any thoughts on this. The book i have have been reading is healthy sleep habits happy baby. Her cousing who is the same age as her sleeps 4 times a day and stays asleep for at least 2.5 hours for each nap! My goal is to eventually get my child to sleep thru the night only waking up once. Right now she wakes up 2 times.

I'm 19 weeks pregnant and I felt the baby move for the first time on Monday. I felt it a few times during the day. It kind of felt like bubbles a few inches below my belly button in the center. I haven't felt any movement since then. Last night and once again this morning I felt a very light tap several times. It's isolated about an inch to the left of my belly button. Could this tap be the baby moving or is it just a twitch or something??

I am having a baby in 6 weeks and I am keeping her! I am 16 and got lots of support from my mother now ( we just got close when I moved back in 4 months ago!) The dad is 24 with other kids and we talk all the time but he moved out of state because he was in some other truble! Well Now there is a guy that is talking to me and I don't know if I should talk back with him because I know I won't have time when the baby comes but will it hurt to flirt now! I don't need a baby daddy just a friend for myself!

He is wired in school and at home after school. His teacher said you would never know he isn't getting enough sleep. He is wired right up to five minutes before he goes to sleep. I limit his sugar/caffeine intake all the time. He goes into the bed at 9pm and he stays up for atlest 3 more hours. His teacher always has problems with him staying on task. I told her that last year the school wanted him tested for ADHD, but my ex didn't want any part of it. I would do anything to help him. But his teacher also said that sleep deprived children act the same way that ADHD children do. He is always wired. Does anyone know if doctors prescribe any kind of relaxation meds to wind down kids? By the way, he does academically well.

we have a new aquarium cradle swing and my son loves it. he is 4 months old. he is starting to learn how to play with his feet and when i put him in the swing he plays with them somtimes. he looks like he is about to fall out of the swing when he reaches down. there is a seat belt for it but he hates it. should i buckle him in anyways or just keep a close eye on him? and also if he falls foward with the belt on then he would be just dangling there. i know this proally sounds really bad but i just dont want to get him mad about the stupid belt. he wants to see the room around him thats why i sit the seat in a up position. any suggestions? please dont be rude, im not an idiot...

I let him watch the movie "The Exorcist", and then told him if he dont stop this **** being scared then I'm going to lock him in his room with audio of that movie playing outside the door all night long. Tell me I am doing the right thing. It gets on my nerves him being scared at night. Will it work?
