My daughter used to be the same way when I put her in her little swing but I figured, let her cry it out because I would rather be safe then sorry. In addition, the cradle swing is suppose to soothe and calm them (at least it did for my little girl) so I am sure his crying will subside after a little bit of being in his chair. Good luck and take care:)

This is why I disliked my cradle swing. I had to stop using it as soon as my on was able to situp or started trying to situp. The seats only have 2 positions and they are both laying back positions. (At least mine did, not sure about the new ones, but from what I have heard, they still do not sit up enough).
My son looked like he would fall out too. Even with the seatbelt on. I didn't want him to get hurt, so out to the garage the swing went. If I ever buy another swing, I will not be getting a swing they can only use for a few months. It was a huge waste of money. Especially since he loved his swing and could have gotten more use out of another style.

He has to have the belt on AND be supervised at all times. If he is really getting upset about it maybe you can find something else. My daughter was in love with something called a Jumperoo. Sorry if I spelled it wrong. I bought it a Target. It does not require a seat belt. He can sit in it and jump up and down. Every time he jumps it makes music. It is almost like a walker but stays in place. And as long as he can hold his head up, he can be in it. Good luck!!
Oh yeah, just wanted to add. My daughter also had an aquarium swing.. It came with a tray for the front of it. We never really used it, but if you do it will probably keep your little one upright!

Always use the safety belts...no matter what your putting your child in! Any fall forward on his little face would be awful...who is the parent here...the baby or you! I have not heard of the type of swing you are using but it should not allow a baby to dangle or hang by the belt. If it does it was either put together wrong or is broken in someway! You risk that baby serious injury! It is great your baby is so curious try puting him in his carrier seat, then he can safely see around the room.

I know it sounds harsh, but you have to buckle him in. At four months old he's really not even going to notice the difference. If he is strapped in properly he won't dangle out of the seat so read over the directions to make sure you are doing it correctly.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS buckle him in there. If he gets mad he gets mad. It is for his own safety. Also if he likes to be up looking at things try an exercauser where he doesn't need to be strapped in. We also had for my youngest daughter a Jumperoo(basically a johnny jumpup on it's own base) It has sounds and lights when there is movement. My daughter loved it and started using it when she was 4 months old.

Who is the adult? Because adults make decisions for babies, not babies. Don't let the kid control you with his behavior. Plus, safety versus him being a little unhappy. I think safety wins out. Would you rather him be buckled in, try to get out, and be saved by the belt or he tries to wiggle free, falls on the ground and smashes his head?
I'm not being rude, just blunt.

merely supply him privateness. in keeping with possibility he's already "exploring himself" in his spare time, or at night. merely ensure you do not walk into his room randomly. constantly knock before entering into! I advise, even in the adventure that your son have been 5 years previous, and didn't wish plenty "privateness", it is nonetheless impolite to not knock! constantly knock on the door, no count what the region! and don't situation! he's a boy. it is one hundred% secure, healthful, and organic.

There is a seat belt for a reason... I suggest you use it or you will regret not doing so... let him get mad ...eventually he'll get over it and get used to it--trust me... If you give in to him, it only gets worse... Good luck
