Pregnancy & Parenting - 14 January 2007

Hi

I am currently 4 months pregnant and am starting to think about names! My husband and I have narrowed it down to 2 for a girl, boys names seem to be harder. I know some wont like any of the names but please could you say which you prefer?

1. Emily Susan (Susan is my mums name)

2. Ava May (pronounced Ayva)

I have most of the symptoms and I started to produce milk a couple of weeks ago. But I haven't missed a period.

In my first pregnancy, my milk came in too late and my daughter wouldn't latch on. Is the fact that I am at 32 weeks and not leaking colostrum again an indicator that my milk will come in late again? Is there anything I can do to make sure I will have a good milk supply? Drink more milk? Eat less chocolate? Or is it out of my hands?

I am 29 weeks and recently have revolting acid in the back of my throat for most of the day and especially at night. It bubbles up and then stays there. I have had a sore throat recently too which makes the acid really painful. I have tried drinking milk, not eating fatty foods, small meals, antiacid tablets (gaviscon) but none seem to work. Any suggestions please?

I need ideas how to get my 3 year old son out of my bed and into his. He is always scared to be alone he follows me every where so it is gonna be a difficult experiance to get him in his own room when he dont even play in there alone.

My little girl is 2 and 1/2 months old. We have a tummy time mat and we've tried to get her to play on her tummy like she does when shes on her jungle gym mat. For some reason she can not stand lying on her stomach. As soon as we put her on her stomach she starts crying then falls asleep. Are there any suggestions that will help her enjoy it alot more?

I was asking them about what the eldery people in the music video for 'Jesus take the wheel' by Carrie Underwood meant. I asked them if it meant they should make up there mind and they have a limited amout of time to decide because they dont know if tommorow is promised. My sister has a 3 year old son and a 9 month old daughter. He is so mean to her. He literally trys to hurt her! He will head butt her, try to knock her down, pull her off the couch, pinch her, hit her. My sister can't leave them in the same room together and use the bathroom without him doing something to make her cry. She left them in the same room together, her daughter started crying, she come back in the room and her son had already sat himself in his time out chair!! He knew he had done something wrong. My sister has tried to punish him. She will stand him in the corner, give him time out, send him to his room, take away his toys. Is there anything anyone can tell me that she could try? Now she gets sick everytime she has to punish him. She has talked to him, he says he does it b/c he loves her. Why does he hurt her? Does he do it to get attention? If he is, what can she do to make him stop? She is so scared that he will really hurt her. Has anyone ever been through this?

My son has tons of toys but prefers to play with everything else including the computer, the sock bin, and the radio. I've spread his toys out like my mom has told me but he doesn't want to play with them. He has stuffties and things that make noise but he doesn't want ot play with them. Oh I don't have a playpen since he doesn't like them and a play yard won't help in a small two bedroom apartment. Help?

my last doct appt was last week. i was 2cm dilated 50% effaced and had my membranes stripped for the second time and when the contractions come my stomache is getting WAY tighter and not it hurts but not like h*ll yet. but they do hurt worst than period cramps when they come. they come often but im not screaming my head off tho. should i go to the hospital or just wait tll my next appt on the 16th? when i contract i have to kinda stop talking and or stop walking they make me very uncomfy when they do come what should i do? is this false labor or am i getting ready to go in labor? ADVISE PLEASE. SERIOUS ONLY!

A friend of mine and I have been argueing that if a pregnant woman pees in a pool, that if you take a home pregnancy test kit and dip it in the pool a few hours later that it will show positive. So, if you dip a pregnancy test kit in a public pool, then you would be able to know if a pregnant woman has peed in it. Any feedback or experience with this?

It's been a month and a half (since intercourse) and I've had two regular menstrual periods?

The reason I question this chance is because for a week I've been feeling slightly nauseous and my stomach has been sore (doesn't feel like normal cramps, but there's still soreness). It's only been this way for the past week. And yesterday I felt faint, dizzy, and nauseous but that could've been from not eating so well yesterday and having way too much sugar and caffeine.

Help from knowledgeable peoples of pregnancies would be much appreciated!
I've already tried looking through FAQs of signs of pregnancies but they don't answer my specific question.

This is just a question. But I know some people who feel that they don't need to have a piece of paper to justify their love for one another and don't feel that they should have to get married before having kids. They have been together for 10 years and been living together for 6 and are very much happy with one another and they do want to eventually get married, but they want to start having kids, they have noticed that they have been subjected to a lot of scrutiny because of this decision. Why do people care so much if they are married or not and how is it effecting the people who think it is alright to pass judgement on someone else's life and life decisions.

My auntie is expecting twins in april. She already has a daughter, my cousin Cleo who is 4. She has recently found out that the babies are both girls and we are all very pleased! Her and my uncle are thinking about using:
River and Raine
I think there very cute and go with their sister Cleo's name.
