I was asking them about what the eldery people in the music video for 'Jesus take the wheel' by Carrie Underwood meant. I asked them if it meant they should make up there mind and they have a limited amout of time to decide because they dont know if tommorow is promised. They told me no, they just meant the people were old. What do the elderly people really mean?

You know more or less. The music video doesn't portray what the song is about. The young woman and her baby, but something more than that. The real meaning of the song AND video is about letting Jesus take complete control of your life. Giving all of your problems and worries to him. Whatever they may be. So that's what the video means. Everyone in that video was going through some type of problem and what Carrie Underwood was saying made the most sense. "Jesus take the wheel."

Your friends were on the right track. Actually, Carrie wanted it to appear as if this older man is very worried about his wife and he needs to let go of his worry and just let Jesus take care of his wife.
The other two scenarios are pretty self-explanatory. I hope this helps!

elderly is the "nice" way of saying someone is old.

It's all about connotation, you'll learn that later. ie. "Old hag" and "elderly woman" mean the same thing, someone who is old.
