it all depends on how responsible your kids are. I think maybe 12. Having them go with kids you've met before and trust,is also important.. It also depends on the movie they would be seeing. I think going to the movies at the same time as your kids, but seeing a different movie, is also a good idea.

I think between 13 and 15
Because at that age your kid will look big and old enough to make sure that noone picks on him. But still i suggest that you check what 'type' of movie he is watching

Well I'm 13 and I go with my friends almost every week to the movies with no adults.. in fact, we just went Friday to go see Stomp The Yard..

Hmmmm...depends.
A Saturday matinee? I started going to those with my friends when I was about 7 or 8.
An evening movie? 11 or 12, I'd say.

12, with strict instructions not to leave with anyone, take a drink from anyone or go outside until you pull up. It's getting to be a pretty common hang out for pre-teens and young teenagers so you can reasonably deduct that predators will start hanging around too.
