Pregnancy & Parenting - 10 January 2007

She cannot go straight to whole milk, obviously. I have looked into soy milk, but it does not provide the same amount of fat or calories that whole cow's milk does. Since that is the primary reason to give a child whole milk instead of 2% or skim, I'm not sure that soy milk is the answer. I am waiting on a return call from my pediatrician, but would love to hear from any other parent who has been in a similar situation. Thanks!

i am currently 36 weeks pregnant, my doc said that i was already dialateing and my cervix was thinning, as of last week. well i noticed that yesterday about 7pm i was haveing those bad vagnal pains like i have been since i was 32 weeks, but all last week they just werent really bad, well now they picked up again. i have been haveing really strong braxton hicks the last few weeks along with alot of cramping and lower back pains, last night while trying to sleep i was just completely sore down there and couldnt roll over with out it hurting so bad. when i woke up this morning i and used the restroom i noticed i was reallllllllly swollen down there, has anyone had that happen before or does anyone know what thats from. i tryed calling my doc but i have been on hold for an hour now and i still havent been able to talk to anyone yet!!! im not to concered about it i just want to know the cause of it and if there is something i can do to make it less painful and the swelling go away. thanks

I had a miscarriage in October 2006, had a D&C on Halloween and waited for my period. When it didn't arrive by January 1st and the pregnancy tests I took came back negative, my doctor prescribed Provera which I'm currently taking to induce my period. Could the pregnancy tests have been wrong? Could I have gotten pregnant right after my D&C? If I am pregnant, is this drug hurting the baby?

Ok, so for about 2 weeks I had all the test book symptoms of pregnancy, even the heightened sense of smell. Then, the symptoms just stopped for about 4 days. Now my nipples keep getting sharp pains in them (make you catch your breath type pains) and my breasts are sore. What gives?

We have recently started having problems with our babysitter. She charges us $24 per day per child. We have two children in her care, as both mom and I work. Last week, both of our kids were sick, and only stayed in her care 1 day each.

She told us when I paid her that we were obligated to pay for the entire week, even though the kids did not go. I refused to pay her that amount, because there was never a contract signed, and it was the first I've ever heard about it. I paid her the full amount for this week, because now that I know her policy, I will adhere to it.

Today, she called my wife at 10AM and informed her that she (the babysitter) is sick and that my wife will need to come and pick up the kids.

Should we have a credit for this half day that she did not babysit?

Additionally, she has said that we are to pay her during any holiday that SHE takes a vacation, in order to ensure our kids spot with her. Is that right?

Hubby and I have been TTC for 3 months now. My cycles are pretty irregular. I've never had a baby or been prego. Did an HPT last week and it was negative.

Today I started bleeding and there was a lot of clotting. I'm not cramping or anything...and it's all bright red blood.....

What could it be??

Hello again. I am about 3 months along and have had some cramping, a little bit of lower back pain on my right side, I spotted a few times in my early weeks and now I'm spotting a little. Is that normal? Also, I haven't really been wanting to eat anything. Food right now just doesn't sound good at all. Is that normal too? This is our first baby and my husband and I have been trying for a year and I really don't want anything to go wrong. Please help me out guys! I hope to hear from you all soon. Thanks!

I am on cycle day 10 of a 26 day (usually regular) cycle. I am due to ovulate on Jan 13 and we did it last night. I have been told to do it "every other day" to let the spermies build back up. Is this a good idea? I'd hate to think I missed out on becoming pregnant because I skipped a day. I need to know when we should be doing it.

i herd you can have surgery to change the split down the middle. and in any cases is there a chance you cant have a baby at all. i am really worried about this as i have already had 1 misscarrage as the embryos implanted right at the top where they are unable to grow but im still scared incase the b uterus will stop me from having children.

My friends son is calling her names that i can not mention here (lewd filthy names) and she went to slap him. He blocked her and balled up his fist and hit her as hard as he could in the shoulder and ran. He is taller than her and lifts weights. She has a neck injury and has had surgery. She has been in severe pain since the incident. She is depressed and feels hopeless in intervening with him b/c his father has always taken up for him and spoiled him. What can she do?
