Yes of course. Mostly it depends on your average cycle. Your most fertile time is usually about 14 days before your period begins. I took fertility treatments and had to be monitored by sonar to check for ovulation. The first day they would start checking me was on day 10 of the cycle. (starting with day 1 of your period)

You can get pregnant 4 to 5 days after your period. The chances are slimmer than if it was 13 or 14 days after your period, but you still can. Generally you ovulate around 10 to 15 days after your period (if you have a 28 or 29 day cycle) so if you had sex 4 or 5 days after, it's a lot harder to get pregnant. A man's sperm can live anywhere from 1 to 3 days inside you too so the sperm could could still be alive in you for a few days. You probably aren't pregnant, but don't take any chances again. It's too scary.

Just wanted to clarify that sperm can live up to 5-7 days inside a woman's body. If you have fertile cervical fluid to sustain them they can live a lot longer than most people think. More typically, sperm live 2-3 days.

4-5 days after the end of your period would be prime time for ovulation!!!

The 1st day of your period is DAY 1.

If you estimate 5 day long period plus the 5 days you suggested then you would be on cycle day 10 and that is only 4 days away from an "average" ovulation.

If you have shorter cycles then you ovulate sooner in your cycle and if you hav elonger cycles you ovulate a little later than 14 days after the start of your period.

Yes, women generally ovulate about 10-14 days into their cycle. Assuming your period is about 5-6 days long, then 5 days after would be the 11th day of your cycle. Also, sperm can stay alive inside of you for up to 48 hours. You should be more concerned on when your period started and how long it was, because your cycle day #1 is the very first dya that your period starts not ends.
