I had a miscarriage in October 2006, had a D&C on Halloween and waited for my period. When it didn't arrive by January 1st and the pregnancy tests I took came back negative, my doctor prescribed Provera which I'm currently taking to induce my period. Could the pregnancy tests have been wrong? Could I have gotten pregnant right after my D&C? If I am pregnant, is this drug hurting the baby?

If you are already taking the drug then it is best just to keep taking it and try again at a later time. There wouldn't really be anything you could do now if you were pregnant, most I would bet my last dime that you weren't when you started the drug. I think I have an idea of some of what you might be going through. I was pregnant 7 times and only have one child to show for it all. Very sad. Anyway, even to this day, I still catch myself almost every month watching for little signs and symptoms and thinking, "what if", or "what does this or that mean", could I be? am I not? Then about the time I break down and get a test, my period usually starts. It is also possible that your body just took longer to recover from the miscarriage and D&C than what is usual. Sorry to hear your sad news. Good luck in the future and God Bless.

If the pregnancy test was urine, yes it could be wrong. If it was blood, then no, it was correct.
Provera can cause a miscarriage if taken early in pregnancy...and cause birth deffects if taken later in pregnancy.
If you had gotten pregnant right after your D&C it would have showed up on a pregnancy test by now. Some women just dont get their cycles back right away after a D&C either...it took me 3mths to get mine back and in order.

First things first !!! Before you conceived, how regular was your period ? The first period after a miscarriage would come after 2 months or 2 weeks and would be a lot heavier !!! Ask your doctor. Before you miscarried, did you had a greenish discharge ? As this could be an infection when you miscarried!!!!
