There are a lot of weird ones out there but a couple that really got to me were some that i saw in the newspaper. There was a picture of a mother and her two daughters in my local paper a couple years ago and i can't forget them because the girls names were Precious and Treasure. No joke!

I even read a letter to an advice column in my paper from a nurse who was fed up with all the stupid names people give their children and the example she used was a teen mother who named her baby girl Pretty. Seriously.

Also i hate when people have a couple kids and give them names related by subject. Example i once knew sisters named Crystal and Jewel. Apparently the mother didn't realise what she had done until well after she named the second one though.

It's also stupid when you have twins, one boy and one girl, and you give them the same name but in masculine and feminine form. Example: Justin and Justina. WHY? And speaking of weird twins names, I knew of twin sisters when i was in high school named Georgina and Geraldina.

Good lord.

Well always on the look out for others with strange names since I have one, and sometimes I feel like I'm the only one with an unusual name. I thought I'd share my given first and middle name:
Ninja Arcadia...
yes, like the turtles (spelled and pronounced the same), matter of fact most of the time when I state my name I automatically say it ..."Yes, that is my real name, yes like the turtles, no my parents aren't hippies, etc..." and I believe my middle name is greek. Not sure if they sound good together, but everyone who hears my name LOVES IT... or maybe they are just being nice lol
My real father named me...I think he was high or something, I know he thought it would be "cool" and "funny". My mother wanted my first name to be Arcadia, but my family used to live in Wisconsin with a town nearby called Arcadia, so they settled on it as my middle, so not to associate it with the town.
Also most people find it amusing that my intitials spell NADS...my real father was aware of that as well and when I brought it up to him when I was younger, he just laughed. UGH
Well I have to admit that I'm used to the name now and couldn't ever picture myself with anything else...neither could any of my friends, lol, I've asked their opinions.
Strange names aren't that bad, it just always catches strangers a little off guard. =)

These names have circulated in my family and that of others known to me.

Primitivo, Hermenehildo, Epasotilio, Basilio, Teofilo, Panfila, Gegoria, Itandehui, Zochitl, to name a few of the most offbeat.

All names are beautiful, as weird as they may sound to some of us. Cherish the name you were given for it will be with you for the rest of your life! That is, unless you change it!

there was a kid on cbeebies called Elvis earlier, but in the Sunday Express kids section a while back there were twin boys called Tom & Jerry. What, you may ask was I doing looking at the kids section ? Well, my 8 year old brought the twins to my attention 'cos he was laughing so much at their names that he nearly had an asthma attack, the moral of the story is KIDS ARE CRUEL so be nice to them.....

p.s Vaginica Semen is pretty cruel too!

Miracle. This is a girl's name.

Supposedly, the young lady who had the child, though she's been pregnant 4 or 5 times before, claimed to not know she was pregnant until delivery date when she went into labor. So there was no prenatal care or anything. So she named the child Miracle.

My only question is if she'll change her own name to "Idiot".
