Pregnancy & Parenting - 8 November 2006

I stopped taking the pill on the 6th of October and got my period on the 11th of October.
I stopped taking the pill in hopes of becoming pregnant.
I know have lower abdominal cramps and white discharge and have been feeling really tired.
I went to the doctors and had a pregnancy test (blood) done on the 2nd of November and it came back negative. So I think it must have been to early to tell.
It is now the 9th of November. No signs of my period, which makes me two days late.
Could I possibly be pregnant?
Or could my period just be delayed because of stopping the pill.
I don't really know what is going on with my body and I hope that someone here has experienced the same thing before and can tell me what is going on!

This is my 3rd child, however the 1st I have breastfed.
The trouble I am having is he always wants to fall asleep duing every feed, even if he is full.
I am growing tired of all this attention and some family members have "tagged him as the booby boy".
Does anybody have any suggestions. I'm about ready to quit breastfeeding and put him on a bottle.

Not RENEE since I think that tends to be more feminine. I was thinking of using it as a middle name. It's French & means *reborn* and I lost my baby so I was thinking of using it for a miscarried baby.

The family I babysit for recently had a baby 5 months ago. Since then Rylee (the middle child) has been shoved aside. I used to spend alot of time with her but now when I am there I spend most of the time tending to the baby. I want to spend more time with Rylee but I dont have alot of cash, the babysitting $$ barely covers my gas expenses and 2. So what can I do type of things can I do with Rylee thats cheap and would be fun.

i am about 9 days late and went to the doctor and he took a pregnancy test and it was negitive. . .im having all the signs and symptoms but it still turned out negitive. . . is it too early to tell? my last period was on the 2nd of october and i get it every 21days. i know that the signs of pregnancy and PMS are almost the same. . . but ive been experiancing cramping for about 2 weeks now and nothing happens. . .still no period. . . the doctor said come back in two weeks if i still dont get my period. . . am i pregnant and its too early to tell? what should i do?

my friend went for a scan at 5 weeks no heartbeat - then at 6 weeks there was a heart beat , but shes had spotting after going to the loo just when she wiped, it got a little worse the weekend followed by backache and was told she would need another scan to check. So she went along she was now nearly 8 weeks the same nurse did the scan that had done her 5 week one who was abrupt and unhelpful she then stated the baby was still measuring 6 weeks and no heartbeat so she said you will miscarry and told her that the bleeding would get worse other to that she could have it surgically removed (im explainig this brief they were not the exact words) but a day later my friend is just waiting shes had no heavy bleeding yet, how long does it take for the heavy stuff to start - shes now thinking the hospital have made a mistake and the baby is still in there so its ok, ive never been through this so i dont know what advice to give her for comfort.

I love my 10 month old baby boy and I'm ecstatic with every milestone. At the same time though, I just wish he could stay this small forever. I break out in tears everytime I think about him growing up and not needing me anymore. I just feel like I can't cherish this time enough. Soon, he won't need to nurse. Soon, he'll be too big to hold or carry. Soon, he'll grow up.

I have to use a Unisex name since I don't know if it was a boy or a girl. and to those people who ask me WHY, this is very common to do, so don't even bother leaving a message if you disagree.

I am a busy stay at home mom of 2 preschoolers. Sometimes I feel horrible because I don't spend hours a day playing with my children. Is this normal? I mean it's not to say that I don't interact with my children. I bring them along on errands, and I am physically around them all day. They are very independent, so a lot of times they are happily playing by themselves while I clean, do the bills, make dinner, or do whatever else that has to be done around the house. I am even "homeschooling" my 4 year old because he is too young for kindergarten, but I feel like he is ready for some academic stimulation (I'm a former school teacher).

The thing is that some days I feel like the day has gone by so fast, and then the kids are asleep and I go in to kiss them at night and I feel like I miss them--like I didn't spend enough time with them that day. Does anyone else feel like this? How much time would you say that you actually spend playing with your kids?

I went to Boots ( am from the UK) and was told there is nothing I can use to help unblock her nose. Even the karval plug in or albas oil are for 3 months and over, can anyone tell me why ? surely a bit of albas on a blanket near her moses basket is ok ?? any ideas ?

I have yet to make up my mind about what to do. I think i would prefer to bottle feed. There seems to be a lot of people particularly women preaching the breast is best arguement. My sister has had 3 healthy children all of which were bottle fed.

What was your experience?

I have three children. The oldest just turned 3 in October. She is incredibly smart, fluently speaking 2 languages. We only speak one at my house. My son will be 2 in February, but he doesn't say much of anything. The quiet type I guess you could say. We have had him tested for learning disabilities and hearing problems, but he has passed with flying colors. My 8 month old says more than he does. I have two questions. How should I encourage my daughters abilities? A gifted learning program? Or just let her be a kid? AND Should I be concerned about my son's speech or should I just let him mature on his own as well?
