Pregnancy & Parenting - 22 October 2006

I know this question gets asked a lot and I understand the answers are not from a professional practioner but wanted to know your thoughts.

I came off the pill in April and ever since then I have been using condoms with my partner. My periods have always been regular but this month I haven't got it yet - so far it is 15 days late.

I have taken two pregnancy tests and they have come back negative. I have no symptomns but did have some bleeding a while after my last period - but it wasn't like spotting a brownish pink colour. I keep getting the odd tummy pain like period pain but that's it. I'm not stressed or going through a bad time. I am going to the doctors this week to have another test but from the results of the home tests it makes me think I'm not - I used First Respone which can detect it v.early.

He possibly has strep throat. His best buddy in school was out a few days with it last week and now he says his throat is a little sore. He is still eating and drinking and does not have a fever, but the coloring on his tonsils and throat is red. What I have heard is that it is not necessary to take him to a doctor yet unless he gets a fever with it or complains of a really bad sore throat. I would really like to know some opinions because it's going to mean a lot of $$. Thanks .

such as,

"this is an issue," this is really bad, you have to take her to the doctor."

I tell her its a dry scalp, not an ISSUE, it just means her scalp is dry, quit making such a fuss over nothing. it happens every winter, just like her dad and myself. How can I get her to lay off?

I am currently in school study to be a Physician's Assistan and have 3 more years to go. I want to finish school first and then have a child but my husban wont even consider it. He says we either have a child now or we are not having children at all. I'm really lost and don't know what to do.

Me and my husband had sex and after wards i went to the bathroom and i saw some blood on the toliet paper. Not a lot of blood just a tiny drop. is this normal? should i worry? should i call the doctor? this has never happend before. Im 5 months pregnant and i just want to make sure my baby is ok. Also is it normal for it to hurt a lot when you have sex? Ever since i've been pregnant it seems like im a virgin every time i have sex.

I normally start my period on a Monday night around 8 p.m. Does that count as my first day, or would it be Tuesday since that is my first full day? Just curious since I am trying to get a better idea of when it is I should ovulate.

this guy ive liked 4 over a year, i just started talking 2 him again like in march/april..we would see eachother everyday in summer...he goes 2 my school this year...we used 2 talk like we were friends...recently i told him that i liked him through a text...ever since i told him, he has been sending me random texts (he used 2 just send me texts if he needed sumthing) he asked me one time in summer if i could tell when a guy is flirting with me...he hinted that he wanted 2 hold my hand at our brothers' game the other day (it was b4 i told him..he said that his friend told him that 1 of my friends lied him (i know he meant me) ) i really like this guy...we know so much about eachothers personalities..we can even read eachothers mind at times...so, wut do u think?

I'm going to have an ultrasound @31wks to see the size and weight of the baby!!!! I've been worried that my stomach isn't big enough, even though my doctor says all is fine (measurements, weight gain, heart rate, and fetal movements, which are ALL the time)!!! He's doing it to put my mind at ease. Has anyone else had an ultrasound around this time? And was it accurate? Thanks 1st pregnancy, and no I'm not overweight, I was 5'6" and 118 to start, my torso's kinda long too!!

His doctor said to give him milk, well he absolutly refuses to drink it.He throws his bottle, he throws his sippy cup, he pushes them out of my hands, after only a sip. I weaned him onto it first, from formula. What other things could I try, maybe warming it?

When any of you were pregnant, or first suspecting that you may be pregnant, did you have any spotting during the first month instead of an actual missed period? I am under the impression that this is fairly common. I haven't taken a test yet but my period is about 5 days late, and instead of bleeding like I normally do - which is like a stuck pig, I bleed a lot from beginning to end - I am just sort of spotting, and have been for about a day and a half. Could this mean I am pregnant?

I have this friend, and she just won't stop crying, even at school. She keeps saying she's a fool, but when I ask her why she's crying she says she doesn't know. I haven't had my period in over two months!!! I have taken three pregnancy tests but all negative. I'm thinking it might be stress related because over the past two months i just finished school and my boyfriend broke up with me. I have a child already and that pregnancy test was showing two lines before i even finshed peeing on the stick!! So i have a friend i had called last night and she told me that she had unprotected sex with her boyfriend twice...only because her lame excuse was that they had no money to buy condoms. She asked me last night if i would be willing to lend her some money to go and buy her a pregnancy test. I asked her "did you ask anyone else?" Basically me saying no. I have to keep my money for my personal sake...meaning college, car, and licence, and other future stuff. She doesn't work cuz she is lazy to work 5 days a week and like 4-5 hours a day. All she does everyday is have sex. And i think its her own personal issue that she got herself knocked up. If she wants to ask for help she can either ask her mom or the state. She doesn't want her mom to find out, cuz her would would go crazy on her (but either way her mom will find out that she is pregnant). My parents tell me not to lend her it...and im not gonna cuz i didn't want to in the first place. Neither her or her boyfriend are working.

Where can I find a place or people who are willing to help me provide a better life for myself and children in my local area. I am working FT, attending college, with three kids. I really am in need of helping like figures, or any organization who is willing to help me get ahead and be self supporting of my family. My main issues are childcare that is safe, reliable, and affordable while I attend class, and work. I am finding that many mean based programs don't help b/c the more I make the less help you recieve, I don't have the time to wait on hand outs b/c I work, or many of the programs are swamped (headstart)ex :public aid, WIC,. Since I have some college education and a nursing assistant certificate and above average wage I do not qualify for for educational assistance from many gov agencies, and I own a car so that consider assests. I am at my wits end for finding help for someone on the way to trying to make a better life.
