Pregnancy & Parenting - 12 October 2006

He is so sweet.. don't get me wrong. I think I may have taught him overconfidence. I had very little confidence growing up. So I made sure he had lots, yet he acts like he owns us all and we should jump at his every command. I have never spoiled him like that. He treats the little girl we babysit like she's only a play mate when he needs one but lower than dirt when he's finished playing with her. We don't treat her like that. My husband is more than a gentleman to me and any females in our lives. It's so frustrating. We are already implementing discipline, but it would help me to find out why he is doing this. If anyone has any ideas outside of spanking time outs and loss of privledges please feel free to add them. Thank you very much in advance.

Ok, so I wrote a question earlier. I lost my mucous plug, and did some light housework. I am starting to feel contractions and my lower back along with the vaginal area really HURTS.So I called my dr.'s office-I will be 37 weeks tomorrow. I went to the hospital with my 1st daughter and had to have potosin to make my cervix dilate. They said that they will not give potosin at 37 weeks at the hospital. I thought this was bs. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on what to do after you lose your mucous plug, and to help make your cervix to start dilating? I'm already at 3cm, and 70% effaced. Thanks.

I have a 10 month old and I'm debating whether or not to have her vaccinated against the flu this year. Anyone with kids have any experience w/ the flu shot and the effect on your child(ren)? I'm not against vaccinations in general but I'm not completely sure that she needs it. What do you recommend?

ive been with my boyfriend for 6 years we talked about getting married and haveing a family hes always worked hard and been a good man to me but recently he has lost his job and now im pregnant with a little girl and recieveing help from the state now hes been getting lazy and not wanting to get a job and help and ive had to quit my job because of cronic hyper tension caused by the pregnancy he knows i cant get mad or hyper becauce it effects the babys heart but for some reasion he wants me to do more and lately hes been picking arguements which he knows i cannot get upset then to top it off i just found out that my baby might have downs syndrome i dont have any were to go and i dont want to leave him because where would i go i honnestly have noone and he knows it but if i stay here something terrible might happen to me or the baby what would you do :(

Hi, I am watching a foster child who goes to kindergarten. He has major behavior issues at school, and I'm at wits end as to an effective punishment when he misbehaves at school. I've talked to the teacher, developed a plan for how he is to be punished at school, you name it, she does it!

If he comes home and has had a bad day, I make him sit in his room and write in a notebook many times "I will behave at school" or something to that fact. If he's "good" at school, I try to reinforce this positively by allowing him to do things he likes when he gets home. My husband has even taken him out on the town the one day he came home without any warnings!

He knows what is right, what is expected of him, yet continues to do wrong at school. I do not know how to effectively deal with this situation to get him to stop misbehaving.

Unfortunately, I cannot spank him. Does anyone have any ideas of what I might do?

so i am 2 months pregnant and i have never been before. i am not quite sure what morning sickness is supposed to be like but for some reason the past 3 days i wake up and i feel a lil sick in my stomach but i always kinda feel like that cuz its empty. buti can't eat i have no appetite i go to school get home at about 10 and i know i need to eat cuz my stomach hurts. so i eat and it comes right back up. then in the afternoon i feel hungry and i eat and its fine and about a couple hours late i am really nauseated and i make a trip to the bathroom again. i also wake up in the middle of the night and have to purge. when you have morning sickness what is supposed to come out and how often are you supposed to throw up. because i have been gettin a lot of stomach acid. is this normal? i called my doctor and im waiting for a call back but im anxious to know whats goin on. any help?

I just found out I'm having a girl and my husband is in love with the nickname, Izzy, but neither of us are in love with the names Isabel, Izabel, or Isabella. Are there any other cute names that could be shortened to Izzy? I tend to like trendy names like Ainsley or Insley, or Adyston. I really like unique names too. I just found out that I'm pregnant and I don't believe in abortion...I don't think I can take care of a child properly at this time,..I am 20 years old and this is my first time being pregnant. It's not that I can't take care of the child money wise,..it's that the father wants no part in this and wanted me to tell my child that he was dead. I'll admit it,I am extremely old school and the way children act today sickens me,school shootings,kids telling their parents to shut up,the juvenile crime rate going skyhigh,10 year olds with cell phones,12 year olds going on dates to the movies,it just blows my mind and I am only 20 years old. It might be because I was raised by old school parents though. What are your opinions?
