They don't want the person to know? I do it too, but what's the point besides fear of being rejected?

I don't really know how to respond to that...I don't encourage it, I don't discourage it. I'll either ignore it or try to redirect her to "let's pretend we are princesses...." Her mother is not in the picture, only a couple of visits in a couple of years, doesn't call, write, etc. Would there be a better response?

I have a one year old who spilled his bottle on my mattress. Now it smells like rotten milk. I tried removing it with soap and water but it did not work. Any suggestions?

I have a four year old boy. He is the youngest of three boys. He has an AMAZING imagination. I can't get over the stories he comes up with here, and at preschool, however, he also will lie when he does something wrong. (like when he cut his hair last weekend) He knows what lying is and that it is bad, but how do I teach him the difference between lying about something he has done, and telling stories. I really want him to continue with the stories.

I want some opinions here. We pretty much know what we want to use to accent my daughter's room. I have purchased the material and all for the quilt and pillows that my husband's grandmother is going to make for the baby. I am going to go with Beatrix Potter, but since I just don't like the cream colors in the only crib bedding set out there for this, I decided to decorate her room my own way. The pieces for the quilt are precious, and I am going to try to attach a picture for you to see.

My husbands thinks a pale blue would look great with the quilt. I love the pale blue, but I have never thought of it as a color for a girl's room.

Anybody else ever paint their girl's nursery blue?

What other colors do you think would coordinate with the quilt?

Here is a link to the picture of the fabric being used for the quilt.

Moms: What do you recommend? I am 21 wks pregnant with my 1st child, so all this baby stuff is very new to me. My husband doesn't want to buy a bassinet, he thinks a crib will be enough but a crib seems kind of large for a newborn. Plus I plan on breastfeeding and I'm thinking having a bassinet in the bedroom might be a little more convenient.

And then they turn around and say that they're the mother so they automatically deserve to have custody of the child?

If they weren't responsible enough to keep their legs shut, how much more responsible do they think that they're going to be after the child is born?

My son is 8 months old. He has a thing for paper. He loves to put it in his mouth & eat it. The thing that suck is then he'll choke on it!
I only let that happen once! Now when ever i read a magazine, mail anything paper AT ALL. he gets so mad at me for not letting him have it.
Any suggestions on what I can do or give him?

Thanks

Is anybody else going through this or have you before? I guess I'm looking for moral support more than advice. He KNOWS how to use the toilet if he wants. I honestly don't even care if he continues using a diaper. The problem is he WON'T keep on a diaper or pants. The instant I put any clothing or diaper on, he removes it. My spouse & I put him on the toilet or ask him about every 30 minutes, yet TWICE this afternoon I've had to clean feces up from floor. No, it wasn't diarrhea. He knew he was pooping on the floor.
I've heard boys are harder than girls but 3 1/2 seems pretty old to me. Has it taken anybody longer? Anybody out there w/ 4 year olds who refuse to use the toilet? Any advice? It's so frustrating! Some days he stays dry all night & only has one wet accident all day. Other days he refuses to use the potty at all. We've done rewards charts, stickers, praise, ignoring, let him wear wet pants.
We just don't know what to do. UHHGGG!
Please tell me he'll one day be trained!

I was just looking through my mom's baby book and was surprised at
some of the things my grandma use to give her! She gave her orange
juice in her bottle at 2 weeks, and she regularly gave her Karo and
cod liver oil in her bottle. And my mom use to drive down the road
nursing me!!
