I love when my daughter comforts me shes two,and its so nice to have her come up and put her arm around me and say aww mommy dont cry ill hug you.But at the same time I dont want her to see me upset because then she may worry, and then I think well maybe its healthy for her to see all emotions ,i just make sure to reassure her that I will be fine and that I feel so much better now that shes hugged me.

It depends on the situation: if mom is upset simply from being completely overwhelmed by her parenting responsiblities, a young child trying to comfort her may seem to just add to the overwhelment at first...but in the long run i think it generl touches her heart and makes her feel a lot better to know they have a child/childern that care

I think that i would feel a lot of diffrent things at once.
I would feel loved... I would feel like at that moment that what ever i was crying about doesnt matter.
What a beutiful distraction.
I wouldn't feel any shame in letting your kids see you cry.. It helps them realize that you are human as well..
What ever you were crying about I hope that it gets better.

Part of me feels guilty for letting them see me upset, but the other part makes me proud. If your child comforts you when you're upset, you must be doing a good job! You have taught compassion and empathy by example. Your little one will grow up to be very kind, thanks to your parenting skills. Congratulations!

It's kinda a mixed feeling, like it's the sweetest hands in the world comforting you but in the same case, you don't want them to see you upset, cause it may cause them to worry about you.......that's how I feel. Good Luck

when your crying it hurts inside. (well for me) and when my son comes to me its as if there should be no reason to cry . i always thought my son took a piece of my heart the instant he was born , when i hug him even when im not sad or crying it feels like my heart is whole again; even if its only 3 seconds and he pushes you off (my son is 18months)is a beautiful feeling

It makes me feel good to know that they care so much, but it also makes me feel guilty. I don't want them to feel burdened by my problems ~ They'll only be innocent for such a short time...
