I'm 20 years old and know how to take care of the child. It's just the fact that the child is so young it is nice to have some reassurance. I just wanted to make sure everything I know is correct and that there is nothing to worry about. PATTY..I would appreciate respectful answers.

Sing to the baby. Let the baby see your face when you talk to it and the baby will interact with you as well. peek a boo works well.

Hey! I'm 22 with a 6 month old I'm baby-sitting for. At that age just be sure that she's happy and healthy. Lots of cuddling, toys aren't all that interesting to them at that age. Have fun! PS If you have any questions e-mail me at missyjay1984@yahoo.com, I'd love to be able to share my babysitting stories with someone :)

Talk, sing songs, any toys that are bright colors that they can hold onto they will love. Read books, music, etc. Anything pretty and bright for them to look at or listen to is great. Other than that, change diapers, feed, burp, and you're doing well. If you have any questions on specific problems or worries feel free to e-mail me.

First off I think its nice that you care enough to learn more about how to take good care of him/her. Just talk to him, or sing, read him stories, even though it seems silly. Read him anything even something you like to read. Try not to hold the baby to much or else your end up holding it all the time! Make sure you get those burps out or else he/she might throw up. Or be grumpy. Good Luck!

Babies this age are a snap. If he's unhappy, check the "S" list--
Sanitary? (diaper) Sleepy? Satisfaction? (food) Sick? If none of those helps, then it's probably Sad and all you can do is comfort and hold him. He will probably like to play on his back and tummy on the floor, and maybe you can take him for walks.

Sing. Rock. Read. Gurgle. Feed. Change. Only watch TV when they're sleeping in another room.
