I recently stopped using the patch about 1 month. do you think it's possible for me to get pregant rather quickly or will it take time for the hormones from the patch to fully leave my body?

ok...before I answer your question I would like to say that someone on here...Michael S is a dumbass!!!...maybe if you understood the question you wouldnt make yourself like like a moron in front of a bunch of people!!! Now...where was I...ok...in in the same situation as you right now. I was on the pill and just got off it and am trying to conceive with my husband. The thing is its different for everyone. Some girls get pregnant right away because of the effect of not getting the hormones and so they will ovulate. Others take time to get more regular and start ovulating again. It took my mom 3 months to get pregnant with me when she stopped taking the pill and some take longer. If you are trying to conceive then I would give it a few months. If nothing happens in that time go and see your doctor for some advice. The are meds out there to start ovulation. or try charting your basel temp in the mornings to see if your ovulating. I've heard it really does work and pretty fast too. Good luck to you.

The general consensus is right......everyone is different but it is quite possible for you to get pregnant as soon as you stop using the patch. ovulation is possible as soon as 3 days after stopping the patch or bcp.

as far as the 5x the risk of blood clots......there are a couple of things that need to be cleared up.
1. the study that prompted the fda to issue a warning showed a 2 fold risk (not 5 fold)
2. a second study showed no increased risk of blood clots
3. we do know that evra users are exposed to more estrogen than oral contraceptive users HOWEVER we do not have an direct evidence that this increases risk of blood clots

bottom line - evra is very new and we do not have any good, ramdonized, controlled studies to prove the increase risk..

It depends on you. Some people can get pregnant right off BC and others dont get pregnant for a while. I was on the depo shot and then I took the pill for a little while. I got off BC in about Febuary and I've been trying to get pregnant since then. I might actually be pregnant now, I am having all the symptoms but the test said I was negative. I'm not due for my period yet though, so that could be why. Good luck!

I got pregnant exactly one month after stopping use of the patch. They say to have "protected" sex for at least 1month before trying to conceive. I never expected to get pregnant right away, but we did. Unfortunately, that pregnancy ended in miscarriage, but they say it probably is not even be related to when I stopped using birth control.

Yes, you can! I got pregnant, about five years ago, within a month of getting off of my birth control pills. Thank goodness that hubby and I wanted this to happen. (That's the whole reason why I stopped taking the pill in the first place.) You can get pregnant anytime you stop taking birth control and sometimes even when you're still on it. When in doubt, always use a backup. (condom, diaphragm, etc.)

If you are like me than it is entirely possible. If just depends on how efficient your body is at expelling the bc hormones. that fertility timeline that the makers of the product give are only approximations. Some people are extremely fertile and resume ovulating normally right after discontinuing the bc.

If you have had a period since you stopped the patch then you could probably get pregnant. you should wait until after your first period. you will most likely start ovulating 14 days after the first day of your period.
Good Luck!

as soon as you stop using the patch you can get pregnant and just FYI the patch has a 5x high risk of having blood clots then any other type of birth control

It is different for everyone. It took me a year after going off the pill, but a friend of mine got pregnant the same month she went off her birth control.
