My 9 month old used to sleep through the night; but in the past month she has been waking up at least once a night & i dont know why? She can't be hungry. My husband started giving her a bottle of formula, but when i get her out of bed in the morn. the bottle is usually still full. I tried to rock her but she just keeps crying. She used to take a pacifer but hasnt had one in about a week, so i dont think this could be it b/c this has been going on b/f we started weaning her off the pacifer. Some one tried to tell me to just give her a bottle of water at night, cause it seems like she is wanting a feeding & since she is wasting the formula, she will get tired of just drinking the water. She has already cut 6 teeth, maybe she is still teething? Please help??

i love my children very much and stay at home with them. they are twins and 16months old. as of late they fight me on everything from feedings to getting in thier car seats to changing a diaper. i never let them see me get angry because i believe they will feed off of that type of response... but it is not working. i realize this is them trying to gain independence but they do not act this way with their father, aunts or grandma/grandpa. they are perfect angels for them. just last night my husband said "they really don't like you do they?" b/c they were pushing me away when i was trying to hold them. they let him hold them. i play with them, take them to the zoo, apple orchard, park, read them books, sing and dance not to mention feed, bathe etc. do they treat me this way because i am always with them and am thier mother? does anyone else feel like their kids don't like them? am i taking it too personal? i am pretty sensitve!

I'm doing a research paper and I want to know what people think. Who do you think is to blame for teenagers becoming pregnant? Is it the teenagers themselves for having sex or is it their parents who should encourage their teens into waiting until marriage or using protection? Let me know why you think.

Lots of moms work, but their kids aren't in daycare. Alot of couples work opposite shifts, so either parent is always with their child/children. And I don't agree with those people who think fathers can't do as good a job as mothers, that's ridiculous. Lots of fathers love thier children just as much as the mothers, if not more sometimes.

My 4 year old just started universal pre-K and she needs to take snack into school. She is not a picky eater and loves all kinds of foods. I was just looking for some cute and fun healthy snacks that maybe I didn't think of. Thanks for your input.

I also have a 2 yr old so when it comes to tea time I'm going mad trying to figure out what to make! When they were eating pureed food it was fine as I made lots of it & froze it.

I've pureed chicken but it goes bitty & my son doesn't like it, my daughter does though, the same with minced meat, she'll eat it but he won't!

I just need quick (I don't have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen), simple recipes which include chicken or fish. I have beef casserole coming out of my ears but can't give them that all the time! Any other recipes for the twins will be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know if coco butter formula lotions help stretch marks? I'm 7 weeks pregnant and trying to get an early start on preventing. I bought Palmer's Stretch mark cream. It has coco butter, shea butter, collagen, and elastin. Does anyone have experience with this kinda thing?

I asked a question last night and I think I worded it very wrong. I got a very negative response and wanted to ask my question to people in a more polite way. In my question I asked why some stay at home mothers or housewives neglect to do housework and then say they were tired or they had a bad day--several days in a row? I understand a bad day or two but several days in a row…I just don’t understand! I would like to know what these mothers do all day? Of course they care for their children but what do they do during naps or when they have spare time? I really don’t understand. Is organization and routine that uncommon? Is tiding every room for maybe ten minutes each a day that hard and tiring?

I am not talking about mothers who go to work part-time, work from home, or go to college. I’m talking about the regular SAHM who is caring for children all day long.

But why do they expect their husband or significant other to help with the housework and errands? They don't go to his job and help him do his job, right? So, why is it a double standard? Why do women up here line up to belittle guys who want to rest after a long days work instead of helping do the housework or watch the kids? Since it's the "job" of the SAHM that she martyred herself out for, and she wears so many hats, why do they complain buckets of snivel when the man doesn't help unless prodded with "her work"? Please, explain. Be fair, and don't be mad at me for pointing out the obvious. I have no issues with pulling up links and calling a lot of you out that were just up here singing this song.

On thursday night my husband, his step dad spanked him pretty hard for getting into trouble and he cried alot but i thought it was just from being scared and upset. then on sat. morning i took him to his dad and stepmoms house. his dad called me sunday morning and told me he found several small bruises on his lower back and asked me what happend. I had no idea! I figured he had fell down and got hurt or something. I went to pick him up later that night and saw the bruises and freaked out! They looked like bruises from a fist or fingertips! I told my husband about it and of course he had no idea how it could have happened but the weird thing is he was OVERLY nice to my son when we got home. I just thing it was strange. Maybe he doesn't want me to think he did it. Maybe he didn't do it but how else does a kid get bruises on his lower back??? I'm use to seeing bruises on his knees and stuff like that but this was different. I'm just worrying myself sick over this.

Pump up the babysitter? Concerned Husband

2006-10-02 03:29:10 · 15 answers · asked by David G 3 in Other - Pregnancy & Parenting

A friend, her husband, baby and 3 1/2 little boy came to stay with us for the weekend while her husband helped my husband build our fence. Their little boy is often naughty and gets punished either with a scolding, time out or Daddy's belt. The little boy has been out of diapers for less than 2 months and I'm now finding out that soon after being punished is wets his pants. His parents believe that this is not an accident but an act of defiance. So, now he gets punished for that. First the punishment for wet pants is bathtime since he hates it. Then one night while at our house, the little boy misbehaved, got scolded, wet his pants and then was spanked while being put into the tub. In general I believe they are good parents trying to deal with a child who has been having behavioral problems since he was 18 months old. However, I think they are punishing him for having an accident. What do you think? Could he be trying to get back at his parents?
