My 4 year old just started universal pre-K and she needs to take snack into school. She is not a picky eater and loves all kinds of foods. I was just looking for some cute and fun healthy snacks that maybe I didn't think of. Thanks for your input.

Oh my gosh, how fun! When my kids were in Kindergarten, I used to love snack! Here are a few of the things I did:

Slices of Peanut Butter bread sprinkled w/cinnamon & sugar.

Applesauce Dippers (If they still have that.) Basically, it's cinnamon stix or graham crackers, even, with little cups of applesauce for them to dip them into.

At Christmas time, I know someone who made Rice Krispies Treats, but shaped them into little wreaths. You can use food coloring to make them green, and use red to make little bows for them.

One of my favorites that I did was make 2 loaves of banana bread, then after I sliced them (on the thicker side), I used a large teddy bear cookie cutter to cut teddies out of each slice. (Kids usually don't like the "crust" anyway.) I used mini chocolate chips for the eyes, noses, and buttons.

If you're looking for something healthy, but easy, Jello or Pudding cups are always a hit. Also try Teddy Grahams, Handi-Snacks, or even apples with caramel dip.

Good luck, and have fun!

In the 8 oz round plastic cups, I give my son sliced strawberries, cut up oranges, cheerios, does she like vegs? include a dip with each one if she likes. For example w sliced apples,a small amount of peanut butter.
He also loves the granola bars, some of them have the nuts and fruits in them. Cut up cheeses with whole wheat crackers.
Theres so many options, key for them not to get bored with the snacks is to change it up.

You want to pick stuff that is easy for her to eat anywhere, and will travel well.

Try little applesauce cups. They come in individual serving cups. Or maybe string cheese, mini bagels with cream cheese. Pretzels are always easy and fun. You could also take ham (or turkey) and a slice of cheese and roll them like little wraps.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

Fresh fruit (apples, bananas, pears, peaches) or celery sticks and carrot sticks with a low fat dip. The less sugar and fat the better. Good luck.

Chow!!

You could make miniature peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, cut them into fun shapes or put faces on them. Also you could give her carrot sticks and peanut butter, healthy and delicious!

If you don't have time/energy to make your own "health packs" (i.e. cut-up fruits), then I'd check your local grocery store. Fruit roll-ups/dried fruit in a bag with shapes can be both fun and nutritious.

Fresh fruit would be my first choice -- it's healthy, doesn't require refrigeration, and usually pretty self-contained for easy cleanup.
