I am 38 weeks pregnant. I am sooooo tired of being pregnant, and I can't wait for my baby to be here. But I am so scared of the labor and delivery. I don't have a high threshold for pain. I don't know if I'm strong enough for this. I know you get pain meds but I'm scared of getting the epidural too. I have everything planned and have educated myself on how things can and should go. I was feeling like I was ready, but now when I think it is really going to happen any minute, it scares the hell out of me! I'm afraid I won't be able to do it and I will fail my baby. Does everyone feel like this before labor? If you have, how can I try to ease these thoughts?

As sad as it is, with 3,000 babies being aborted everyday, its probably saving us from over population. not to mention the over-crowded, abuse infested foster care system. if those moms dont want those babies, chances are they arent going to be well taken care of and will just get taken away, and the government will just end up paying for them. can our country really afford 3,000 extra human beings a day? dont get me wrong, it sickens me, but i also think there is another side to it. if abortion were illegal, women would just take drastic measures to kill their unborn baby, or just not take care of it when its born. is there any point in fighting abortion? perhaps our focus should be on proper sexual and birth control education, as well as teaching our young people how to do more than just math and biology, but also how to be a responsible and productive member of society. what are you thoughts?

Whats the avaerage age for toilet training children? Also, is it true that if a child is uncomfortable in their nappy then they will learn to be toilet trained faster or is that just an old fashioned thing?

My husband and I have been asked to babysit/housesit 3 teenagers (mostly - 16, 13, and 11) for twelve days. We would be responsible for making food, making them sure they get off to school in the mornings (and into bed on time at night), and driving them to their after-school activities (lessons, scouts, etc.). We would also be staying at their house the entire time.

Any ideas?

I don't know the family well (like I don't know whether or not the kids are problem-children, etc.). Their grandma attends my church and that is how we connected. I also don't know their financial situation.

Grandparents normally do these kinds of things, but can't this time because the grandpa is having open heart surgery the same week.

I have an 8 yr old son who is in the 3rd grade. He is on a 6-7th grade reading level & a 5th grade math level. His Teacher told me he is in the top of his class. I just got report cards on Fri. & he was in the top 90's & 100's for his grades.

I am having trouble getting him to do his homework. When he comes home from school, he has homework everyday, but I will literally fight with him until his 8:30p bed time to do it....alot of the times we crunch it in in the mornings before we leave. He will fight me tooth & nail to do it, but once he does it, it only takes him 5 min's or so to do.
I have had conferences with his teacher about this. He is also not doing his work in class. The Teacher is having to make him stay in for recess to do his work. Last wk., he had to go to the Vice Principals office for lunch & recess to do work.
Whenever I ask him why we have to go through this...he says he hates school. He doesnt care if he fails. He wants to be a Historical Oceanographer,

A male or female, alone can't make a baby, so why is it just a womens right to choose? I'm for abortion in cases of health of the women, or in cases where they have been sexually abused. But any other cases are absurd. If you can't pay for it, give it away, abortion should not be treated as a last form of birthcontrol. You may say, well a women might be traumtized later if they give a baby up, well think of the way they will be traumtized if they have an abortion. At least giving it away would be more eithical.

Every once in awhile they get ahold of his bottle or pac. and put it in their mouth! Should all three be treated?

It just seems so...what's the word I'm looking for...unnatural, and other words come to mind too. Part of the thing that makes babies so cute is the lack of hair. I'd maybe consider it for part of a halloween costume but that's about it.

Anyone else early on in the pregnancy get bouts of dizziness, where it seems like the room is spinning? Started happening today to me, and lasted for about an hour. First noticed it when I stood up, and it just stayed from there. I am currently 4 weeks and a bit pregnant. This is my second baby, but I didn't get anything like this with my daughter.

I have a roll around my belly, and just wondering if that would hinder my chances due to lining up with the female parts.

I have a question. I'm 6 months pregnant and my husband and I currently live in a small 1 bedroom apartment. We plan to buy our first house together hopefully before our son's first birthday. So we have thought about just buying a pack n play and having him sleep in the bassinet until about 3 mo and then moving him to the bottom part until we move into a house where he'll have a crib.

I know that a pack n play is for sleeping and stuff but I was wondering if there are any safety issues to using it as his full time bed until about 12mo?

Could having him that low to the floor all night have any risk of SIDS? I dont know why it just sounds like it could to me. Or because it's not airflow like the bars in a crib? I'm going to end up being one of those very paranoid parents with a newborn so I'm trying to asure myself that it will be ok. We really have no room at all for a crib right now.

I know I probably sound paranoid and silly but I just want what is going to be best for my son
