You should be your self not someone else. To answer your question its not bad. But honestly I would rather be my self than to fool my self by believing I'm someone I'm not. If you aren't construable being your self talk to a friend better yet someone older they can advise you allot better. Another thing by you asking her "why cant i be like her" you are telling her that your better than me and that's not true give your self a brake and don't put your self down like that. Take Care

Don't look at her as a role model she's not better then you cause she's popular no one is better then anyone.

You can only be perfectly YOU. A banana makes a pretty funny looking apple, doesn’t it? But that’s not what it was meant to be.
It’s not who you are compared to someone else that matters, it’s who you are. Period.
You know what’s funny? The way you stand out is the way you fit in. Think about that. You fit into the whole scheme of things because of the very traits that make you unique. No one can fit that place in the puzzle but you.

no, its not always bad. trust me I know how you feel. But... if you start turning into this girls mini me you could have ALOT of problems ahead. So this is what I would do, think about what it is you like about her, then modify it so that its naturel to you. Just because she is the school skank and lets her thong hang out all over the place doesnt mean you have to. Keep it naturel to yourself and dont go overboard!

just because shes hot and popular.... what does that matter in 2years or so, what will it matter when you leave school?
think back 2 years, what do you remember? have you still kept the same freinds, what ambitions did you have?

be happy in your own body, make differences in your life that will matter in a few years. like keep a few really good friends, and as long as you are not the schools geekiest person, it doesnt matter.

what's wrong with being yourself? to be someone else means that you have to change your personality be something that your not. probably the life style that you have is even better than the one the popular girl has. check it out.
