I also have a 2 yr old so when it comes to tea time I'm going mad trying to figure out what to make! When they were eating pureed food it was fine as I made lots of it & froze it.

I've pureed chicken but it goes bitty & my son doesn't like it, my daughter does though, the same with minced meat, she'll eat it but he won't!

I just need quick (I don't have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen), simple recipes which include chicken or fish. I have beef casserole coming out of my ears but can't give them that all the time! Any other recipes for the twins will be greatly appreciated!

As they were a month early they are a bit behind so still cannot chew very well

thanks for your answers, they're all very good (minus a couple!). I don't remember how my eldest got on with lumpy food but my son really gags on it & I'm turning into a nervous wreck!

I used this one for my twins - it was quite nice:-

1/2 a small onion
4 oz carrot
1/2 an ounce of celery
tablespoon of vegetable oil
2 oz split red lentils7 oz sweet potato
14oz chicken stock

fry the onions, carrot and celery in the veg oil until slightly soft, add sweet potato and lentils
bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes

I got about 6 portions out of that one....

Heres another:-

1/2 small onion
1/2 oz butter
4 oz chicken
medium carrot
10 oz sweet potato
10 oz chicken stock

fry onion in butter until soft, add chicken and cook for about 3 or 4 minutes, add vegetables and stock water.
Bring to the boil, simmer for 30 minutes (or until its all soft)
leave to cool for 20 minutes or so before you blend it

CHICKEN, SWEET POT AND APPLE
fry a bit of chicken in oil, steam sweet potato and apple together, once all is cooked puree with a bit of the cooking liquid.

PLAICE AND CHEESE SAUCE
Put plaice or cod fillet in bowl add 3 oz full fat milk, bay leaf, a few whole peppercorns, cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Steam a bit of brocolli in a pot. in a saucepan put 1 tsp unsalted butter and add 2 tbsp flour, slowly add 125 ml full fat milk to make smooth liquid, once boiled for 3 minutes, remove from heat and stir in grated cheddar cheese, blend all together

CHICKEN HOT POT
fry a chopped leak, in a bit of unsalted butter once softened add the chicken and fry until opaque, add vegetable stock (homemade as store bought has too much salt) carrots sweet potato, and any veg, simmer for 1/2 an hour and then puree.

My favourite recipe copied from a friend is the tiny pasta shapes you put in stews and soups, cooked then add laughing cow triangles, may be with a little tomato puree. I haven't tried it with fish or chicken but i am guessing it would work.

Can't the twins eat a nice big platter of finger food? And your two year old would enjoy this to!!!!!

Dried fruit,
Fresh fruit,
Bread,
Meat,
Celery,
Cheery toms.
Crackers

Anything really it could be very healthy and nutritious.

This would also help them get used to chewing bits!!!

I had the same problem with my twins. I would give the little girl meat, whatever you and your older daughter eat, and give your son the sides that you are eating. Of course you have to add some veggies and fruits, so maybe add some corn or squished peas and maybe some canned pears that squish in their hands or mouths.
I used to make a shepards pie for my twins.

You use ground beef or shredded chicken and add veggies like corn or mixed veggie, a can of cream of mushroom soup. Then you layer that in a pan. On top you layer mashed potatoes (i put sour cream in mine) and cheese on the top. Bake it to melt the cheese.
Then they can pick what they like and leave what they dont.

Another good thing is spagetti with tuna. Sounds horrible I know, but actually good.

Another idea is giving them cottage cheese (for protein) and yogurt for calcium and such. Since their main diet is still formula or breast milk they dont need actual full meals.

My twins are only 5.5 months yet I attend a set with different multiples. My Kids always loved Hot Dogs & Beans, Both easy to chew.

Or try some cod steaks in sauce with mash, they break down easy too.

my baby's fave,pasta,spagetti & scambled eggs..not all together!!could also try rice with well cooked carrots & peas & cous cous,mix different veg & stuff in like grated cheese..mash potato,add whatever ur older child likes to eat...mine hardly eat meat a lil chopped up chicken n some ham is about it!!

try tinned soups with bread and try tuna and sweetcorn with little bits of pasta thats easy for them to eat
