First off what state do you live in? Go online and put attorney general + (your state) in a google search and it should give you the main site. Here in texas you can call the local attorney general or you can go online and it has a child support link.Get a number and call because the site can be confusing.

It depends on how you want to go about it. You can hire an attorney or you can did what i did and go down to the Social Services building and go to child support area. Fill out the paperwork they give and bring it back and within 8 weeks they will find the father and you will go in for blood work (if father is not on birth certificate) and within a few weeks later you will appear in court. Then, child support will be enforced.

If you are in New York i can give address and phone numbers. But I am not sure where are you. Even though you can contact The Human Resources Administration that is belong to your area. They will provide and guide what you have to do for next step about your request.

Every state in the US has a central IVD4 unit. This is the unit that handles child support cases. Contact your local department for welfare because they are usually the ones that handle it. It does not mean you are on welfare but they have ways to locate a missing parent and force them to pay the correct amount of child support.

I would say to either find a family lawyer in your area or go down to you local human services office they should both be able to at least give you recommendations and/or point you in the right direction.
