Babies vary widely in what they will eat, so feed him what he wants. He will probably want to eat every 2 to 4 hours, between 1/2 oz and 4 oz. of formula. If he is refusing formula offered only every 4 hours and/or losing weight, he needs a Pediatrician. But as long as he is eating something and holding steady or gaining, he is fine. The problem of specifying "how much" is that individual babies have different needs. My son drank so much formula that the doctor scolded me not to feed him so much or so often, and stupid 1st time mom that I was, I listened and tried to cut back to every 4 hours. After a month of listening to him cry, I brought him in and he was very long ('tall', if he could stand), and very underweight for his height. This was because the kid through his whole babyhood and childhood was a super-fast grower, and he really needed the huge amounts of formula he was demanding. My daughter, on the other hand, was more average. She liked to eat frequently, every hour or 2, but only about half an ounce. And her weight and height were about the 50th percentile all the time. So, listen to your baby. When he starts to fuss give him the bottle and see if that solves the issue for him. No serious rules.

Dont be fooled by only feeding your baby every 3-4 hours if formula, untrue especially at 10 days old. At this newborn age you should really feed your baby as often as they are hungry (I noticed even when fed formula my twins still woke up every 2 hours to be fed) and it is usually 60-70mls at a time, if your baby eats a little less or wants more, that is ok. Every single baby is different :)

Usually the baby will eat about 2 ounces of formula a feeding...depending on the baby of course. I would say you would feel her every 2 hours... that would approximately equal 24 oz in a day. Every baby is different. For an more personalized amount I would ask my pediatrician.

Each child is different, my boys came home taking 3 to 4 ounces every 3 to 4 hours, my daughter was the largest and she only took 1 to 2 ounces every 2 to 3 hours, so it really depends on the individual child.

Good Luck

Usually by the end of 1 month, babies will typically drink a 4 ounce bottle every 4 hours. Prior to that, depending on your baby's weight, 2-3 ounces every 3-4 hours is perfectly acceptable.

the normal amount is 2oz every 3-4 hours if bottle and if breast feeding it is every 2-3 hours. you might want to ask your doctor cause he/she can give you a more accurate number and every baby is different. Your baby might drink a 4oz instead of 2oz. what i would do is fill a 2oz bottle and let the baby drink that and if he/she is still hungry after that then fill it again and you will know exactly how much formula your child drinks

My son ate about 4 ounces of formula every three hours at this age. Talk to your doctor and ask how much they should eat.
