Pregnancy & Parenting - 1 September 2006

My daughter is 11 months old and takes a bath in the big tub. She loves it. But the only problem is, when I go to wash her hair, it is impossible to make her tilt her head back for long enough to wet, wash and rinse. It usually gets all in her face. Of course I use tearless shampoo so it doesn't hurt her, but I would like to be able to do it so it's easier for both me and her. Any suggestions?

Yeah my birth mom apparently was 20 years old, never did drugs or drank and got drunk ONE time at a college party. Dont' know who the father was. I'm not sure how I feel about it. But I've always wondered about it. And I found it in a baby book yesterday. I found out the doctor who connected my mom with my real mom (not really they never met it was an anonoymous adoption) died in 2005. So I dunno wut to do. Someone close to me (an adult) is helping me and she found a site for the wife of one of the two pedictricians and sent her an email. But alot of people are saying I should talk to my parents but I don't know if i want to get them into this. Help!

why am i the one everyone thats older than me in the next grade up loves to hate!!!!! what have i done! it all started with a few people now i got 21 people all up at my locker yellin at a lil 5'1 skater girl!!! yeah i can fight also but i dont understand is it because im the only ones who stand up to them?? or is it just me... im in 8th grade now but im talkin bout when i was in 7th... i was always fighting eather with words or fist or what ever kind of fighting there could be! exsept guns of course.... im a really funny loud outspoken person i dont really think before i also have ADHD... but thats not doing anything i hope... that may b why i am all hyper all the time.. im always smiling even when i get in a fight... but all theese tall tough grls are always trying to like kill me! girls are always nasty at this age but i dont no... im the only girl in my school with this problum dose any1 els have theese problums??? i cant fit the whole rest and u prob dont wanna hear it...

I'm suppose to start my period in 4 days by my birth control pill set up but I always start it in the middle of the period area.. so really in 8 days I'm suppose to start... could I be preg.... I always get headaches before I start and back pain and I haven't had either, but my breast have been sore and swollon for like 2 weeks?

Don't judge me personally on this, but i think abortion should be made legal. It's the woman's choice! The fetus is unborn, therefore s/he has no power in the matter.

Please don't mistake me for a cruel person! I will agree that abortion is morally wrong. But my philosophy is that we should save the existing people right now than worry about the unborns and what might have been.

My daughter ( 10 y.o.) has recurrent episodes of strep- usually gets it from her school I think. Some of her dr's advise her to go with a tonsillectomy-others advise not to. Need someone with first -hand knowledge who has experienced this: Has tonsillectomy helped, not made a difference,some other reccomendations?

well its really a two part Q my seven month old son has really bad diahrrea no fever lost his apatite for a day and half back to normal, on baby solids, has same wet diapers, hes had it about a week, what could be causeing it? secondly for all the poop and cleaning of he has a horrible diaper rash, with open sores the size of pencil tips that i dont want to get infected i use J&J 3in1 durring the day and balmex at night i even let him air dry after i change his diaper and use a washcloth to clean him. any suggestion on how to reduce the reddness or at least healing the openings?

I am mid 30s now but by the time I was about 10-14 years old when I got it, it was usually 15-20 smacks over my jeans with a wooden spoon. It definitely got my attention but did no noticeable damage other than slight redness for a few hours and considerable soreness for most of a day. These spankings were very effective (they didn't happen that often) but by no means abusive from my perspective. But people are so worried about abuse these days one must be careful not to leave marks.

Did I get it too hard...or too easy...or somewhere normal?

My ex goes into rages about him being forced to pay child support when he should just be given the chance to pay on his own. Everytime we speak he sets up these senerios where I can come to court and call it off or if I continue with this, he will just stop acting like dad all together, pay the money and not interact with my son. Opportunities were given for him to pay like he should have and he refused to cooperate and this is the reason for his situation now. He has only had a relationship with my son for a year now out of the 7 years of his life. I really value the time my son has spent with him and see lots of improvement in my son now that his father has been involved. Tonite, my ex refused to listen got mad said he is paying the money and wants nothing to do witih me or my son, cussed me out and hung up in my face. All this after he promised my son a visit. Should I report his behavior to the judge, what should I tell my son who adores his dad, isn't this abuse?

and no have intercorse or do strenous activities, and no heavy lifting, My son is 17 pounds and I have to take care of him 24/7 and having an infant is a lot of work. I can stop having sex(sorry for my DH), and not doing any strenous activity, but I need to take care of my son, I try to be even more careful now, but he is getting hevier and hevier by the day. Does anyone had a similar expirience? What are the chances of miscarrying or having a premmie baby? Please keep us in your prayer, my DH and I are freaking out.

My daughter is 1 in 3 weeks. She is still being breastfed. We feed her baby cereal and baby food fruit in the morning and I feed her baby food vegetables for dinner. She nurses first thing when she wakes up, a few times during the day and at night before bed. Usually for lunch I give her table food - whatever we are eating. I have no idea how much she should be eating at this age - she is my first baby. I would like to wean her from the breast by her first birthday. She drinks juice well from a cup and I give her whole milk sometimes too. Can anyone give me some tips on how much a one year old should be eating? I don't want to give her too much, but I don't want her to go hungry either!! She also snacks during the day on crackers, those gerber puffs and gerber dried fruit things. Thanks!

Anyone ever experiance this? Yesterday I was sitting in the car and suddenly got a sharp pain in my left side lasting about five minutes. I was wondering if that is what it was. I do have the egg white like discharge (suppose to be a signal of ovulation?). I am new to this ovulating thing. Our first daughter was concieved "accidently" while we were using condoms. My fiance and I are now TRYING to get pregnant with our second child. Just wondering...

My little girl is going to be 1 year old in 3 weeks. She has recently started to go crazy when I change her diaper! She is fine while I wipe her, but as soon as the new diaper goes under her butt and I start to put on the vaseline all hell breaks loose. She arches her back, locks her legs and screams bloody murder! She cries so bad that sometimes she can't catch her breath She tries to roll over and get away - but I'm afraid to let her go around with no diaper on. I don't want her peeing all over the house! I feel so bad because I lose my temper and yell at her which makes everything worse. I try to hold her down to put the new diaper on, but it is next to impossible. Any advice??

i'm six weeks pregnant and when i went to the bathroom just now there was blood on the paper there wasn't much and not enough to show in my panties but noticable when i wiped. it's not clotting and i'm not cramping just wandering what i should do i called the er and they said with it being a holiday weekend the best thing to do is bed rest and see if it stops. i'm alone right now and can't get ahold of anyone. the er told me there was nothing that they would do being under 12 weeks pregnant. any suggestions from anyone who has been through this??
