Don't listen to the people who are saying just pour it over her head she'll be fine. It may be tear free but we don't like it when we get lots of water in our eyes so I wouldn't expect my child too.
I bought one of those shower heads (handheld) that you can take off and it has a hose attatched to it so you can put a wash cloth on her forehead and then use the shower mister to rinse her hair. Just keep saying "lean your head back" while you gently lean her head back to rinse it and she'll catch on. My daughter does fine this way but if she sees a cup coming her way she freaks.

it isn't good to bathe your hair on a daily basis, washed over, the more effective the attacks and there sebum. so as that the hair receives oily. a lot less washed, the more effective they're. and pretty attempt to settle on delicate and / or organic and organic shampoo and dilute your shampoo. for instance: 2/3 of shampoo a million/3 water. ultimately do a very last rinse with apple cider vinegar diluted in water. 6 tablespoon to at least a million liter of water. Sorry if I instruct myself badly yet i'm French ;p

There are two suggestions that I have...
One is to pick up a bath visor such as the one in the link I've posted below. They shouldn't be too expensive. I've seen them at the Babies R Us for under $5.
The other suggestion... after bathing our daughter, I always check to make sure her neck is completely dry. The way that I'm able to do this easily is to call her attention to something above her, usually just my hand or a toy. She leans her head back so that she can see what's going on above her.
Good luck!

When my children were that age i would get a plastic cup from the kitchen and when i got ready to rinse their hair i would fill the cup up with water while there head was tilted back and rinse it like that it was easier for me that way. and they didn't get the soap and water in their face. Hope it helps.

I used to wet my kids hair with a very wet wash cloth, then just a dot of shampoo . I made a game of rinsing by using a empty shampoo bottle, filling it with warm water and rinsing. its easier to control the water flow. remember to use just a drop of shampoo , because it dries out a little ones scalp very quickly.

Hold the back of her neck and slightly tilt her back. Take some shampoo on a sponge and wash, then rinse with the sponge. My little girl loved this.

I agree with all the previous posters.
Use a cup or a pitcher, or a washcloth. Or teach her to lie down in the tub and rinse it quickly that way.
As a last resort, they actually make visors for little kids to wear in the tub. I've never tried one, but they're supposed to make it possible for you to rinse your child's hair WITHOUT having to tip them back (they hate that--I think they think it's like falling, even though it's not) and without getting soapy water in their eyes.

I used to use a plastic drinking glass, it was much easier to control the flow and direction. And we would make a game out of it, once most of the soap was rinsed out a small spill on the face and laughing about it helped to ease any fears about getting hosed later on.

Put your hand over her forehead, plam faceing the back of her head like making a cup and use something to pour water over her head. Thats what I do to my child. When you have you had there you can also tilt her head back slightly even if its long enough to pour the water over her hair.

My daughter had lots of hair at that age.. so I know what you mean, it is so hard they don't understand to look back... I used one of those hoses that hooked to the bottom spout and showered thru the other end and it had a ducky (got it at toysrus) on it so it made it easier to wash it and not get it in her ears, also I bought the little visor you can get for them too since she was prone to ear infections and I idn't want the water to get in her ears...
