I am in the DEP for USAF and I’ll have a 2 year old girl, and a 1 month old girl when I leave for basic. Are they going to be miserable and resent me when they get older?

Please be honest with me…

How did you feel growing up?
How do you feel now, looking back?

The point of remembrance is to give quiet thanks to the millions of brave troops who died in defence of our way of life and freedoms.

It is not at all about celebrating our victories over our enemies.

Since enemy troops also died in the conflicts, and since most wars are caused by leaders of countries with scant regard for the welfare of the troops and common sense, could it be said that enemy troops who died should also be remembered in some circumstances?

From their duty station to home what is the usual turn around time? Do they have to go through many procedures? Is it unusual not to hear from them until they are actually in the U.S or longer? I am a military wife going through a first time deployment any help to ease my mind would be greatly appreciated.

I'm very soon going to be joining the Navy, and having trouble finding 1st hand information on jobs that are most rewarding, and highest sought once you out.. I took the ASVAB and scored an 88 on it. Im looking into the NUKE field, or possibly medical (more specific X-Ray tech), or even possibly intelligence. I was wondering If i do choose Nuke if there are many opportunities once i'm out, and how much MORE schooling i would need. Also when i spoke of my interest in medical, my recruiter didn't seem as gun-ho compared to Intel, or Nuke.. Any reason for that, or was it just the fact she came from Intel herself? Any help on this, or any recommendations as far as great jobs in the Navy would be fantastic!

I am 27 with a masters degree and I have been talking to a recruiter about enlisting. I got a D.U.I. about 6 years ago which i told him about. About 9 years ago I was charged with posession of marijuana and this charge was subsequently expunged. I thought this meant "wiped of my public record", however the enlistment application as for expunged or sealed records. I told the recruiter about the DUI already but should I tell him about the expunged marijuana charge also?? If I do, does this mean I will be disqualified from enlisting in the Air Force??

If the government and the media lie us into another war, would it not be the patriotic thing to do, to respectfully tell your commander that you will not be a part of an illegal war that is not supported by the American people or any other country?

Between me and my husband we have three military parents,... They are all still alive, but I heard that these sort of things have to be taken care of ahead of time or they won't have a chance of a military funeral, or a headstone at Arlington. My husband and I are very proud of our parents' service and want to make sure that they are honored for it as best we can, you know, 21 gun salute, headstone at Arlington,... you know!

P.S. Also, I was wondering who of our parents qualifies for a military funeral, My dad retired after 21 years of service, my mom is still in the military and plans to do the same, and my father-in-law served eighteen years before being honorably discharged with the military cutbacks in the eighties.

It's not that I like to think about this,... just want to make sure all is taken care of and done properly.
