There is rumor floating around that if you are dual military with children that you dont have to deploy at the same time does anyone know anything about this and if so where did you find this information at?

I keep hearing stories about infidelity overseas - I have seen that spouses at home sometimes cheat during deployment - but I don't know the curcumstances in Iraq.

Ive already completed my asvab and physical, but during the urine test I had alot of protein in my urine, so i was temporarily disqualified, they told me to see my own doctor, which I did, and they gave me another urine test, and blood test, all of which came back clean and clear, and normal, that was the only thing keeping me out, and i got the records and the release of care from my doctor, faxed it to my recruiter, and hes faxing it to MEPS, and he said hes gonna try to get me in friday, Ive already takin the AIMS test as well, what will I be doing at MEPS again (my god I hate that place!) In your opinions am i in, or is there more test and bs involved, I hope its the last medical test, cause my god this crap is getting expensive! lol Thanx

There's truly no rational explanation why I'm even considering this, But, I'm considering joining the (IN) Army National Guard. I'm 19 & in my first year as a pre-med student. That means I have 4-8 years of college ahead of me if all goes as planned. I'm also a peaceful, strong-minded, stubborn, art student. Basically I'm the last person I'd ever picture in the army. I'm going to talk to a recruiter tomorrow. Here's the deal: I DON'T THINK I COULD FIGHT unless it were HERE in the States, protecting the homeland. Or even protecting other innocents. But what's going on in Iraq?! I don't know about that. In addition, I want to finish school un-interrupted! I'm terrified of dying. Definitely don't want that. & not sure I can handle a 12 month deployment. Yet, I want to be an active part of this country in more ways than politics. I don't want to be useless if something were to happen. Please anyone with true Army NG knowledge, please let me know if you think this is the worst idea ever!

In the early 1960s, America's top military leaders drafted plans to kill innocent people and commit acts of terrorism in U.S. cities to create public support for a war against Cuba. Some of the plans they had on the table:

We could develop a Communist Cuban terror campaign in the Miami and DC

The terror campaign could be pointed at Cuban refugees seeking haven in the United States. We could sink a boatload of Cubans enroute to Florida (real or simulated).

We could blow up a drone (unmanned) vessel anywhere in the Cuban waters. Casualty lists in US newspapers would cause a helpful wave of national indignation.

Hijacking attempts against civil air and surface craft should appear to continue as harassing measures condoned by the government of Cuba.

"Hillary Clinton announced Last week that she has dropped her plan to give $5,000 to every baby born in America. ... Apparently what happened was, they did a test where they gave $5,000 to 100 babies, and the kids immediately became Republicans."

What do you think?

In the army, most troops carry M16s and M4s, and at least a few in small squads carry Squad Automatic Weapons (SAW). I've always wondered, how does the army/marines choose the people to carry/use it?

According to Associated Press, "Commanders in Iraq have decided to begin the drawdown of U.S. forces in volatile Diyala province." The article goes on to say that troops from a nearby, semi-peaceful, province will spread out to unclude the Diyala province.

Are they trying to screw this up so the American public will once again support the war? That's the only reason I can think of that troop withdrawl would begin in someplace "volitile."

Does someone know why this is a good idea?

Round about 13 years ago when I was learning archeology I read some where that the Army corps of engineers had Archeologists assigned to them or had a unit of Archeologists.

I am wondering if this is still true and if so if the position is/was a civilian or a military one.

I am also wondering if any one has more information about the “Human Terrain System” and what qualifications are necessary to participate (i.e. is it standard Military requirements , or do they make exceptions for civilians).

I found a number of sites breaking down the principles behind the project but nothing about the entry requirements, but any info is appreciated.

Thanks.

Im hearing conflicting reports I joined the Navy and im leaving for boot camp in a week and half and would like to know. I hear it depends on what duty station you get, and whether or not they serve food in the mess hall. Any Sailors out there with some insight please let me know.
