and I just recently lost alot of weight(from 201 to 163) and I was just wondering If they will allow you into the service if you are still overweight, but you meet all of the physical requirements. I run a 19:35 2 mile, 40 pushups in 2 minutes, and 75 situps in 2 minutes...

Well sounds like you would not have a issue joining the Army. You are alloted 32 % bf. So if you made the height and weight you will be able to join the Army. Now you do realize you do not have to make the physical training requirements of the 2 mile run, 2 minutes p/u & s/u right? But if you meet them requirements you will have the chance to get promoted before you leave for basic training.

Depends on the branch of service but normally the answer is no without an approved waiver. If you can run and do all the other exercises keep it up and lose the rest of the weight now. Life will be much easier and you really don't want to go to boot camp with the fat kid waiver. You will be targeted as the fat kid like crazy and they will beat you in all your physical exercise stuff until you lose the weigh plus a lot more. If you want a bunch on people coming after you for being overweight ask for the weight waiver, but I would never do it. Boot Camp is stressful enough without any added issued like a weight waiver. Just watch your diet and make sure you do some sort of heart elevating exercise everyday for at least 30 minutes. You have done well so far just keep up the hard work and increase your effort some and you should be fine. The military is not going anywhere, they will be ready for you when you are physically ready to enlist. Good Luck.

You may get into the Navy, Airforce or maybe even the Army. I know for sure that the Marine Corps will not be an option according to the score you have given me.
Here are the min. requirements just in case you get motivated:
3 mile run: minimum 30 min, Max points is 18 min.
Dead hang pull ups: min 3, Max 20
Crunches: Don't know the minimum but max point is 100 in 2 minutes

Depends what branch you want to go into...and if they really need you at this time. If they need people they might let you come in with the understanding that you will lose the rest of the weight. If they don't need you then they will tell you to lose it and come back later. It all really depends on your height. For the Navy if you are 64' tall then you max weight is 156 lbs. 65'=max 160, 66'= max 163 and so on.

Not usually. If they are at their crunch time of year, so to speak, they may get you a waiver. There are charts you can find online, that will give you the weight range for a certain height. Plus, they also will measure your body fat if you fail the weigh-in. For males they measure around your neck (which you want to be big, even if you have to do some neck exercises) and then around your waist (which obviously you want to be small). For females they measure around the neck (be big), around the smallest part of your waist (small) and around your hips (also small). Sounds like you a doing a great job to get in though. I would keep up what you are doing and you will get there!

you must meet ALL standards, including weight. If you are close(within ten pounds or so) you can ask to be tested for Body Fat percentage. If you are within BF % numbers, you can get a waiver.

You will have to pass a medical physical and an aptitude test before you join.

Thanks for wanting to serve our country. We really appreciate you.
