Death of immediate family member they can come home has to be verified thru the Red Cross.
Usually on long deployments they have leave but not everyone may get it. Or they may have to take RandR in country. It depends on the situation.
Or if the soldier gets a severe injury but sometimes they may get held up in Germany first.

Depends on chain of command and mission. It's always mission first and all else second. Death in immediate family perhaps but wife having baby isn't considered special circumstance. We even had a soldier who's son was going through chemo therapy, took months before we could get compassionate reassignment. So, the circumstances would have to be very tragic before he'd be allowed to come home early.

My son has been there in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006..now heading back again...he did not get leave Home, he did get R&R, however, if there is an "Emergency" with an immediate family member dying contact the Red Cross and they will get him home for a short period of time!

He's in a war... He more than likely will not get to come home until they say it's time to. If you are in the military they basically own you for your enrollment, my fiance has missed the last two Thanksgivings, my birthdays and Christmas. He almost missed our anniversary but we got lucky and thankfully they cut him a break his year for Christmas but he only has 8 months left.
I don't want to tell you that he will come home for injury or a death in the family because I am hoping for the best for you and your's.
Stand by your man and just hope that he can get a little time off to see you, it is probably a slim chance though. Write letters, send care packages, talk on email and see eachother via webcam.
Good luck, I will be praying for you and your soldier. Also congrats on the addition to your family. He should be able to make it home for that. :)

The death of you or one of his parents would most likely get him home. Other than that is completely up to the unit command to decide what is ok. My nephew's wife attempted suicide while he was in Iraq, very nearly died and he was only given 10 days to come back. It is sad and frustrating, but you will not be the first military wife to give birth while her husband is deployed..and you won't be the last. Stay strong

a death in the family or if he gets seriously wounded is about the only way.....having a baby will not get him sent home. i had one of my babies overseas alone, i had to take my daughter to the hospital with me and the nurses called my husbands unit and they found someone to come get my daughter and keep her for 2 days......she ended up with his commanders wife who i had never met before. they told me that if i had any serious complications that were life threatening to either me or the baby he could come home but not otherwise. besides giving birth isnt exactly something you can schedule. chances are he wouldnt make it there in time anyway....sometimes it can take days or even weeks to get them out of there if they need to be sent home. a girl i knew was pregnant about 3 years ago and her husband was in Iraq and he did get sent home when she was about 32 weeks in but her blood pressure was so high she had started having seizures and was put on bedrest and told she couldnt be alone until after the birth.

normal pregnancy is NOT a valid reason. Valid reasons include death or serious illness of an immediate family member
(spouse, parents, in laws, children and siblings). Only if you or the baby's life were in danger would he be allowed to come home.

Certainly a death in the family, possibly a serious injury to a family member. I believe other requests are reviewed on a case by case basis.

Well I dont want to say anything to get your hopes up but depending on his command, if there is death, a baby being born, immediate family illness or something to do with life and death. How long has/will he be gone?
