Ok I'm not sure what it's called for an officer, so I just said enlisting. But I'm debating on whether or not to enlist or go to OCS. My reason for wanting to enlist is, I can keep enlisting (as in, serve a commitment, take a break, and do it again)... can I do that as an officer?

Also I heard too that he is going to ask for more troops thats why General Lute said the other day that we should really be considering a draft to send more troops to Iraq. Again I just heard this dont kow if its true. Any ideas?

Do our soldiers get any relief from the heat when they are sleeping, any kind of air conditioning, if no, why not? Are we not spending millions of dollars on things like a swimming pool for the Iraqi's? etc. etc. etc.

I am a Junior in High School, and I'm going to start applying to the Academy in 1 semester and I'm really nervous, lol I have a 4.143 GPA and have earned an Academic Letter; I am on the JV Boy's Tennis Team; and I also run JV Track and Field. I am a member of IB Council (for the International Baccalaureate program) and in FBLA and will run for FBLA officer this year. The United States Army has decided, in all its infinite wisdom, to loosen the strict requirements regarding enlistment. Now gone are the age limits, weight limits, educational levels AND criminal and past drug records.

In 2002, over 120 men and women fluent in the many Arabic languages, including Farsi, were released from the Army because they were gay. SO, you want criminals and drug addicts, but no Farsi speaking gays? No wonder we're losing this war. Go King George....youre gonna get us all killed.

We all want to bring our soldiers home as soon as possible. But, do you think if we start removing large units out of Iraq we may be giving Iran the opportunity to move their military in? Will this put us out of harm's way here at home and will it mean our efforts and lives taken were in vain?

i am interested in joining the coast gaurd in georgia full time once i retire from the army. if there is paperwork i need to fill out please let me know. i am looking for serious responses only. what also is the starting pay and benefits a retired master sergeant would possibly recieve for the hourly or salary service in the coast gaurd.
