However I'm not a US citizen as I'm currently residing in Britain but hoping to immigrate soon, and I'm also partially colour blind.

Being colour blind means you can't join the British armed forces. Is the US navy the same?

Join the U.S. Army. They'll take you if you're color blind. That I know. It may restrict what jobs you can hold, but hey, the infantry will give you a home. I'm pretty sure the Air Force won't take color blind recruits, and the Navy may take you. But the Army has more job opportunities, plus you get to go to Iraq, or Afghanistan! Think of the travel!!! It's fun, I was there (Iraq).

Go to www.GoArmy.com and click on the "Talk to a Recruiter" link Monday-Friday 11:00am -12:00am EST.
They should be able to specifically answer all your questions conveniently live right over the internet.

Also, www.Navy.com, www.AirForce.com although, I'm pretty sure those sites do not have live internet chat with a recruiter, you can find the information needed to contact one in that particular branch. The enlistment requirements are basically the same across the board for all US military branches.

You can join being colorblind, but it will limit what jobs you can do. For the Navy and AF, Im not sure. I know you cant be a pilot though and a lot of intel jobs are not allowed either.

being CB will only restrict you somewhat, there will be certain jobs you can not do is all. Also, you can't enlist until you are a Permanent Resident with a Green Card.
