Well first off I am a female soldier. You get treated differently which is a pro and con. Most of the time i wish we were treated like all the males but it just doesn't happen. Another bad thing is that there aren't very many females around you. Also you get looked at badly if u even talk to a male then automatically y'all are sleepin together. As far as pros though u get good job training and it helps you when u get out.

What do I think about girls who CHOOSE to be a soldier?
Well, they probably have a lot of self-confidence going in, and are tough as hell coming out. I mean I wouldn't want to mess with them.
Right now, they are offering a $20,000 bonus if you enlist and report with 30 days. Plus you get all the other benefits when you get out. So, I'm thinking they are pretty smart too.

I think that is great for anyone who stands up to fight for their country! The only con I can see is if all women done it and we had a major war....you might end up with a bunch of motherless children....but that also goes as well for the men. Every young person should experience a little military time to get a better idea of what freedom is all about!

I was Air Force so I wasn't a soldier. I was doing a job that could be done equally as well by a man or a woman. I was treated equally. A woman makes or breaks her own reputation and how she will be treated, by the way she treats others. I was never treated like a slut, since I never acted like one.

I only know women who want to be soldiers!
They are smart, resourceful and capable! The cons are I do not like to see them be killed in combat. There have been 84 females killed in combat in Iraq!

i think its a way to serve... now days its a good choice for women wanting a career .. you get training and on the job experience.. some of the cons would be lots of physical training for someone unprepared.. some of the guys might joke and tease...

I just enlisted in the US Army and I know the pros and cons. I feel that we make things happen for ourselves you just have to stick to your guns and pray to God to take care of you.

The pros are the guys in Iraq can actually get some! The cons are that a really attractive woman will get raped in a combat environment and most likely she'll be killed and just listed as either MIA or KIA! None of the military branches will ever admit how often this happens!

You would be better off being in the AF not Army. I've heard storys of girls getting sexually assaulted while on combat duty in Iraq. Also, the Muslims think that women should be subordinate to men so they would resent you being in their country in a position of authourity. The AF has softer physical fitness standards and more luxories than the Army so you should go there.

pros: you would be one badass woman
cons:
men are naturally savages, i must admit. you will face ALOT of sexual harassment, if not pshyical than they will be sure to harass you verbally.
even though they say everyone should be treated equally, women will not always be treated the same(not in a bad way)
say you all get pinned down on a highway, a man would most likely run over to help you defend your area(not a stereotype there have been several cases of men helping women out more often than their own squad, which damages the fire power in the given situation)
please dont join, i personally think that raw men should be left to the killing, shooting stabbing and blowing up.
plus pay isnt that great, what if you have kids and such? dont even ONCE believe the propaganda they tell you about paying for college, my uncle got his head blown off in iraq and i STILL dont see his tuition money they promised.
dont waste ur life, u have a good opprotunity here..go to college..become someone and leave the dirty work to men who can hack it
