Do you want the Sunnis (Al Qaeda) to win?
Or the Shi'ites (Iran) to win?
Which side should America's youth die for?

Thankfully I'm not in a situation currently to really need to worry about this...but I thought I'd ask just in case it ever comes up.

If a soldier has some kind of emergency at home while deployed to Iraq...something to warrant emergency leave...would that leave affect the R&R (mid deployment leave or whatever people call it) they already have planned?

Is it the opportunity to die in vain in some roadside bomb in a country that hates your guts and will likely pee on them as they lay exposed? I just don't get it. A lot of my cousins and extended family members are joining up and all I can do is shake my head in disgust. It's not like the beginning of the war when we thought we were fighting for a reason....

I recently read an article which pretty much critcized Memorial Day as a mere attempt to convince ourselves that "sending our children off to be maimed, mutliated, etc" is noble and heroic.

Your thoughts?

I mainly spent time with the family. I made burgers. Then I worked out for a couple of hours and spent the rest of the day just hanging out.

I've heard people call Bush every name in the book because we are at war and how he is personally responsible for killing American soldiers. How can anyone even be a Democrat after Kennedy and Johnson escalated the Vietnam war which resulted in the deaths of nearly 60K American soldiers, over 300K casualties, and the deaths of at least a million Vietnamese?
I would also like to add how screwed-up we were during the Carter years and how Clinton did absolutely NOTHING but hide reality from American during his administration. I bet the average American didn't even know anything about Al-Quaida even though they had already attacked us and were planning the attack on the WTC.

Okay I just have to get other opinions on this. How come probably 75 percent believe we need to get out of Iraq and say George Bush is doing such a bad job. Although right after the 9/11 attacks 3/4 of the population wanted to go to Iraq after that sad day. Now everyone is saying we should never have been there. I just wanna know how everyone can change there stories over just a few years.

I know a 40-yr. old man who is a retired US Air Force Veteran, & he acts as he never went. He has no morals whatsoever. & this man thinks he's a hardcore thug, & he has an 8-month old baby with a 17-yr. old child. What did the military teach him all these years? & he acts very immature, too.

The young hope they fight a just war, they have much to learn, they still dont know real evil, they put to much faith in old men who really dont care if they live or die.still it would be nice to have a mother or dad who cared so much, till you had time to learn.

U.S.: 10 Memorial Day deaths in Iraq
By , Associated Press Writer
BAGHDAD - Ten American soldiers died in roadside bombings and a helicopter crash on Memorial Day, the military reported Tuesday, making May the deadliest month of the year for U.S. troops in Iraq. The Vice President said the Insurgents are in their death throes two years ago. The war supporters said the same thing. Are all Americans happy to hear what the Vice President has to say?
