It will happen. They have been for most of recorded history. Will all the European powers have to gang up and try to loot China AGAIN? That would be gay.

My husband is age 33 and was in ROTC in 1995, given a full-ride scholarship and ultimately turned it down. He is now thinking of enlisting again. We have four children under age five and I want to know if he were to enlist, what are his chances of being sent to Iraq? He thinks he wouldn't be sent, but I have my doubts. Once you sign, you are theirs to do with what they please, right?

Thanks!

This is something my housemate is considering; he is fit and has integrity so I have no doubt he can become a Marine (his wish) but he tells us that he only wants to do it to get trained and serve the minimum before trying life as a mercenary (influenced purely by Hollywood).

We all think this is stupid and dangerous but he won't listen to us- can anyone with military experience please help us bring the guy down to earth?

Thanks!

My grampa was in WWII in 1941 and when the american army took over the international building in Germany my grampa took the flag that was hanging on the side of the building. He passed it on to my dad and now my dad has it and he locks it in his safe.
Its a 11ft wide, and 56in tall red flag with a swastika in the middle and we kinda wanna sell it because my mom and dad are in the middle of a divorice and we are short on money. We cannot find anyone on ebay who has anything similar to it and we are trying to find a person who can tell us about how much its worth. Can someone help? The flag is in almost perfect condition except 3 tiny bullet holes at the top but its from WWII and if its over $10,000 then we might consider selling it.

the united states gave sadam chemical weapons. we knew he was a mad man then. when he used then to murder thousands of his own people we couldn't resist every opportunity to point out how crazy he is. does that give the united states the right to escape any responsibility for his actions and those deaths of innocent people? its like handing over a child to a child molester, both the molester and the enabler should share in the blame shouldnt they ??

0.7% of the total Kosovo Albanian population, or 11,000 people, are exactly how many Kosovo Albanians were killed by Serbian military and paramilitary during 1998 and 1999. Only K-Albanian victims of war rape were 1960. (The Kosovo Civil Society Report to the United Nations On Violence against Women in Kosovo. 2005). The same time from June 12, 1999 through January 16, 2000, 1335 K-Serbs were killed and missing in Kosovo (630 missing and 705 killed) according to the Serbian official source Српска.ру (Srpska.ru). This is a startling discrepancy.

we were coming off a 5 day patrol and were in line about in this field about 30 yards apart from each other, ( so any snipers would not get more than one at a time) when the choppers came in,well the noise from the choppers made the ground rumble and out of the bushes a rat came running across the field and ran up my leg into my crotch, i grab my crotch and start jumping up and down and the door gunner in the first chopper thinks i am being shot at so he starts shooting in the bushes then my squad takes up a defensive position and starts an attack into the bush line everybody is shooting the choppers are circling and shooting and wont land because of all the fire going on and i am trying to get this stupid rat out of my crotch, finaly the rat came down my other leg and ran off, i figured that rat cost about 50,000 dollars of us ammo, i write this because you always hear about the bas things, but funny things do happen in combat

My brother has been there since August. He was wounded in October.
He tells me in an e-mail that he's depressed. From his perspective (being there) things are getting worse, not better.

Perhaps it is a matter of perspective. If you deal with the danger and crap day in and day out, it does all become a blur, as he tells me.
Perhaps some armchair warrior with rose colored glasses can paint a prettier picture of the situation? At least it will provide him and his comrades a laugh, so you'd finally be supporting the troops...
