the united states gave sadam chemical weapons. we knew he was a mad man then. when he used then to murder thousands of his own people we couldn't resist every opportunity to point out how crazy he is. does that give the united states the right to escape any responsibility for his actions and those deaths of innocent people? its like handing over a child to a child molester, both the molester and the enabler should share in the blame shouldnt they ??

Look at our history of government interference or intervention as it is commonly called... Cuba, Venezuela, throughout Africa, there are others as well... We often help "rebels" undermine Governments that we have issues with and it rarely ever plays out to benefit anyone but the rebels. Vietnam and Iraq are some great examples of this... We are by nature an imperialistic society and the goal of many of our leaders, to shape other nations in the image of the USA, is a very God like complex that almost always backfires.

If you really are interested you can go to the link below to see just how often we interfere, only to create more hardship for the people we say we want to help.

The US doesn't have weaponized chemical weapons. We still have the ability to produce them, but currently have none in our inventory ready for use. We prefer to rely on nuclear capabilities rather than chemical. The US has always said we would respond in kind to any attack against us, but in the case of a chemical or biological attack we would respond with nukes. Saddam's WMDs came from Europe and Russia. The technology to produce them did, that is. He made his own stuff, but bought the ability to make it from his "friends".

The USA did not give chemical weapons to Saddam. That is a cold hard fact. I suggest strongly that you visit Sipri.org to see the real origins of Saddam's chemical weapons.
