No, not a war in which both sides exchange nuclear attacks. But I do see a one-sided nuclear attack in Iran's immediate future, and probably in North Korea's as well.

It could be 28 minutes from now or 280 years from now. When the superpowers square off against each other in two camps, then come back and we'll talk apacolpse.
Until then, just think regional conflicts, wars between rump states, proxy wars and brinksmanship. If you recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, a coalition of Arab States (Egypt, Syria and Jordan) were soundly defeated by the Israelis. That was a worse situation than the current conflict and it didn't raise a blip on the world war radar (not that it didn't have the potential to spark a global war).
The next World War will involve a nuclear exchange, how could it not. In the first 30 minutes, nearly a billion people will have been vaporised, mostly in the US, Russia, Europe, China and Japan. Another 1.5 billion will die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning. The northern hemisphere will be plunged into prolonged agony and barbarity.
Eventually the nuclear winter will spread to the southern hemisphere and all plant life will die. You ask when is the apacolypse, you are asking when will we commit global suicide. My answer is it won't happen soon because the larger superpowers are more rational than the rump states in the middle east.
Our biggest risk is an accidental launch of nukes by one of the nuclear powers.

Acccording to Seymour Hersh's article in the New Yorker from 2005 (?) - The Coming Wars, they're planning to use tactical nuclear weapons on Iran.
You should take a look at Depleted Uranium: which is inself a radiological weapon and has been strewn across Iraq over the last two wars there.
DU is responsible for many deaths which is played down (naturally) in the NWO run media .
Radiation from DU in Iraq has been detected as far away as England.
So the answer to your question could be that there has already been TWO!(excluding Japan WWII)

A nuclear war? No. World War III? Yes. It will be the USA, Russia, England, France, Germany, Japan, and Israel against China, North Korea, Syria, Egypt, and Iran. Other countries will be involed to a lesser extent.
The USA and Russia will have the advantage of the largest nuclear arsenal, but we would most likely not use it unless China or North Korea (or whatever other country) used a nuke against us or one of our allies first. The USA and Russia will also have the advantage of the most tanks and aircraft.
China will have the advantage of the largest army. A land invasion would be suicide against them, but we would most likely be using airstrikes.
If China invaded, we would probably be doomed. However, the American mainland hasn't been invaded since the Civil War. China has a lot of troops, but they wouldn't be able to get them over here, especially since they couldn't get any planes or ships past our first defense. Europe, Russia, and Japan, on the other hand, would be in imediate danger, and China would have to get passed them before it could invade America anyway.
Fighting in Syria and Egypt would likely be fought the same way as we're fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan today.
A nuclear war seems unlikely due to the doctrine of Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD), which kept the USA from going into a "hot" war with the USSR for half a century. I would be more concerned with other WMDs, such as dirty bombs, which, with the right tools, could actually be built in your garage.

Mayans predicted many things and they predicted the end of our world at 2012 or 2013. So about 5 years so make the most of it. If we let the Republicans keep power in the US and the world we might be looking at a nuclear war sooner.

From when i was born in 1965 and I became aware of the dangers of the bomb, I did not expect the planet to be here by the year 2000, especially when Brezhnev and Reagan where rattling sabres at each other big time from 1980 to 1984.
Yes there will be nukes used somewhere sooner and later and it will be done by one of the newer powers, like India, Pakistan, North Korea, Iran or Isreal. Some time soon one of them will feel so threatened they will use it.

do hiroshima and nagasaki count?
I imagne at some point there will be a nuclear skirmish, as for a full blown war with multiple exchanges between several participants, I certainly hope not. I don't think that is the point of nuclear weapons. They are designed to generate fear not the total destruction of human civilization.

The Mayans predicted the end of the world in 2013. Many of there predictions have come true so far...more than the rubbish Nostradamus spouts. It will be............well I really wouldn't like to say, its not politically correct is it, I might start a nuclear war. One last thing....dont extend any warrenties after 2013, you will be throwing your money away.

It's not going to be a nuclear war as we thought in the 1980's. A terrorist group will eventually get their hands on a black market nuclear device and use it on against innocent civilians. It will be bad, but it won't be a full scale thermonuclear war like during the cold war era.

Who has the most nuclear missiles? Who is leading ICBM research? Who has the most nationalistic and oppressive government? Who has the most unstable foundations?
Russia is the biggest threat to nuclear stability, it is increasingly becoming aware of its potential. Its natural resources are being used to blackmail its neighbours, Putin is a very dangerous nationalist who still thinks Russia is the USSR. Watch out for any future alliances with Iran,Saudi Arabia etc. (it is currently selling nuclear power tech to Iran)
