Military - March 2007

At the moment the US is declining in many different ways while Russian influence on the world stage is flourishing. And with Russia having strong international allies in the Middle East and also Asia. It is also turning itself into the new powerbase of weapons base technology and IT, how can the US compete when their world wide influence is in tatters and many people in the world see them as trying to tell the world what to do.

The new Russia of late is giving the world an option of choosing two or maybe three superpowers in the future instead of solely American hegemony.

America will not ever attack Russia because its a war that would be too costly and deadly on both sides. So is Russia now able to gain world wide influence while America is making far too many enemies in the world to have a viable chance in the future?

Ok, I am soon to be military, atcually prior service going back in. Now I want to marry a girl who is Japanese, she is currently in America because she is going to a nursing college in Tennessee, but she is not a citizen. Now if we get married does she become a citizen? I will be in the military when we get married so what happens? Any insight at all would help!

I just turned 20 years old and I am considering joining the Navy after college when I'm 23 or 24. I want to be a SEAL with my background in swimming. Currently I swim every other day of the week, usually 2 or so miles, nonstop and I am mixing in breaststroke now. I have gone 3 miles without fins, and for sprinting, I go a 22.5 second 50yd. free, so I'm in excellent swimming shape. I do at least 200 push-ups on the days I don't swim. Besides running and abs workouts, what else should I be doing physically to toughen myself up? Keep in mind I have a very strenuous academic schedule studying engineering at Va. Tech I don't have loads of free time. Thanks. Oh any other advice on the process of contacting recruiting officers or anything else I should do to prepare for the military would also be appreciated. I'm set to graduate in 2010.

Here's the deal. I want to join the air force, and i'll be taking my ASVAB soon, but my scores may be somewhat low. I still want to get into the DEP ASAP though. My question is, after I take the ASVAB, choose an MOS, and enter the DEP, can I change my MOS later on? Furthermore, once in the DEP, can I, at sometime before basic training, retake the ASVAB to try to qualify for a different job?

I'm seriously considering joining very soon, but I must enter DEP first because of college. So any informative replies would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don't know how to swim at all & i'm afraid of water cause of that.I also have a fear of heights.But I'm gonna have to take care of the swimming part before I go to basic right?? Say I aslo maybe wanted to go to Ranger school after word, yea I know tough ( and I'm emtionally fragile at times). I thought Ranger school would help me toughen up and get over my fear of heights do you think thats possible??

I've heard you can do this. I want to use my GI BILL and go to college, but with a general under honorable conditions i am not eligible to use this. It is also hurting my career advancement. I recieved this discharge because i was an alcoholic but am reformed now and attend AA meetings regularly. I just want to fix my past but do not know the first place to start

you know how they search your car?shouldnt they search your gasoline tank?suppose a waste managment truck is coming in wich ussualy have very large gas tank around 500 gallons they could be terrorists and fill the tank with half gas half syntax put a small charge in the tank and blow it up only vaporized gas makes a bomb.but with the syntax ignites when with fire and ignites the gasoline and it makes the biggist fuel air bomb anyone on the base has ever seen.
