After World War Two, the UN created Israel as a haven for the Jewish population of the world which the Zionist movement had pressed for for decades. Remember 6 million Jews had been murdered during the Holocaust.

The Palestinians had moved into the area of Israel since the Jews left for Europe and were pushed aside to make room for the returning Zionist Jews.

The Palestinians and every other Arab/Middle Easter country had supported Hitler in his genocide and held a hatred for Jews and other "infidels" who are supposed to be killed according to the Koran, the holy book of Islam.

Almost every Arab nation in the world declared war on Israel 7 days after its creation and Israel destroyed the forces of these nations in one of the most brilliantly fought wars of all time.

Since this time, these nations have helped the Palestinians kill Israelis in an attempt to make them move.

Many will tell you how horrible the Jews are to the Muslims, but have you ever seen a Jew be tortured for 5 days and then dumped in the street with missing body parts for only asking for a drink of water? The Islamic terrorists cause much more destruction than the Jews. Have you ever seen a man's head cut off with a dull 3 in. blade? I have. It took over 40 seconds for the man to die, his screams lasting the entire time. The extreme Islamists want to kill every last man, woman and child who is not Islamic, it's in their holy book; if you doubt me, read the original and listen to how Muhammed says to slay the infidel and sack their cities. Muhammed himself sacks 6 cities including Mecca and Jerusalem.

Israel was created because of the world guilt for not stopping the Holocaust. Hitler was guilty of this terrible genocide.
Then, in their wisdom, some world leaders decided that the Jews needed a 'homeland' and Palestine was given to them.
Big mistake, because there where already people living there.
(You actually get some people saying that the inhabitants where backward, migrants, etc. Even if that were true, I don't see why they should have been dispossessed.)
Nobody ever consulted the owners of the territory, and they want their land back. That's logical.
The only solution for this problem is for Israel to find some way of gaining the acceptance of the Palestinians and the neighbouring countries.
The Middle East will always be in turmoil while Israel runs around, armed to the teeth by the US, killing indiscriminately.
Israel could become such a stabilising force if they manage (don't ask me how) to get 'accepted' by their neighbours. They have the technology, ideas and know-how to turn the region into a prosperous place.
If not, they are going to be 'fighting for their very existence' until the end of time.

On the day the decision went into effect Israel (supported by Soviets) declared independence but the arab neighbours- Syria, Egypt, Jordan (supported by UK? west)- attacked Israel.
