In 1962, there was a plan in place to stage a false-flag operation to generate support for a war against Cuba. The plan might have succeeded if not for JFK, who reportedly scratched the plan. One of the proposed plans was:

" Firebombing and sinking an American ship at the Guantanamo Bay American military base—reminiscent of the USS Maine incident at Havana in 1898, which started the Spanish-American War—or destroy American aircraft and blame it on Cuban forces. (The document's first suggestion regarding the sinking of a U.S. ship is to blow up a manned ship and hence would result in U.S. Navy members being killed, with a secondary suggestion of possibly using an unmanned ship and fake funerals instead.)"

Thankfully, this operation was never carried out, but its now known that elements of our gov't. are willing to kill americans in order to generate support for war.

Now ask yourself this...Is it POSSIBLE that this happened on 9/11?

Looks like if Western countries don't pull off the 'victories' the press hoped would happen in ten minutes, they decide to take it out on wounded soldiers who return in order to be operated on. In the UK, we now have such people who are being made to wait to be operated on. And if some have been killed by 'friendly fire', never mind - it is a war, not a playground bust-up. No wonder the awol amount has risen. Some moronic Member of Parliament a fortnight ago decided to tell us black soldiers were ill-prepared for fighting, but it seems to me the government doesn't like ANYONE in uniform. Would they respect soldiers more if Iraq was taken as easily as the Falklands was?

I know everyone has an important role, but if we're going to continue to fight I think we should beef up the infantry and combat arms a bit more. All I know is finance? YOU POGUES SUCK!!! Always pay problems!! That and you'all were always home with your families while we grunts were deployed and in the field.

I signed up for Ranger but didn't make it past airborne so I was put in a "leg" unit for 2 years before I was ordered to scouts. My question is when we were deployed once a comrad of mine said we were rangers and some wore tabs, do you think it could be true? I know they sent alot of other scouts to ranger school, and our PT was 10 times harder. We didn't run we sprinted. Do you think I was in training to become a ranger still?

During the Cold War, I always assumed that Washington state, with its nuclear missiles and military bases, was high on the Soviet's list of nuclear targets.

Now that the Cold War is (ostensibly) over, are anyone's nuclear missiles still aimed at the Evergreen State?

I know that nuclear missiles can be re-aimed, and that nukes on submarines are mobile, but what I mean is...is Washington state still considered a valuable target for a nuclear strike to anyone with sophisticated nuclear delivery capability -- ICBMs, tactical short-range nukes, etc.? (I'm not talking about terrorists with "dirty bombs.")

No one can definitively know the answer to this question, of course, but I'm inviting educated guesses.

Is the war being fought wrongly...?

Why are American soldiers patrolling any part of Iraq...??

Shouldn't the Iraqi military/security forces be taking a more
active role in patrolling their own country/ASAP....????

7 U.S. troops die in Iraq violence
AP - 57 minutes ago
BAGHDAD - The U.S. military on Sunday announced the deaths of seven more troops in Iraq, including four killed by a roadside bomb while patrolling western Baghdad — the latest American casualties in a monthlong security crackdown in the capital.

LONDON (AFP) - The US commander in Iraq said Sunday that there are "encouraging signs" that a sharp increase in American troops will help quell violence in Iraq, according to a BBC interview.

US President George W. Bush had revealed in January that he was sending 21,500 extra troops into Iraq in the coming months, while the arrival of a further 2,400 was announced in March.

General David Petraeus told the BBC that sectarian attacks had fallen in recent weeks, with two of the five extra US brigades now on the ground in Iraq.

Despite the "encouraging signs," Petraeus cautioned that he did not want to get "overly optimistic at all on the basis of several weeks of a reduced sectarian murder rate," according to the BBC.

Petraeus was quoted as saying: "By early June, we should then have everyone roughly in place -- and that will allow us to establish the density in partnership with Iraqi security forces that you need to really get a good grip on the security situation."

The military well the Air force anyways can't speak for the rest of the branches is going into this whole privatize housing kick. Where instead of having base housing which I guess cost the government ex amount of dollars they contract it out to a leasing company which in turn builds a housing communitty for military. They take your BAH (housing allowance) completely as rent which they end up making out in the long run because when you BAH goes up guess what so does your rent. Now they are starting to move Section 8 into the housing community is this right? I think not that kind of crowd will bring in undesirable business (ie drugs)

there comes a time when you have to shut up and do what you dot want to do to get done what has to be done, its called being a grown up. war is not great, but if you want to change the world its nessary.. all these people saying we cant help the middle east.why, because history says so? do any of you really know history...it was gengis kahn who created such intollerence in islam, funny how christians were the ones burning peopel alive in the last great wars..this is not the same world it ever has been, if you dont change it now, we will have to deal with the conciquences of hate and vanity with weapons of cowards who give no warning, and who kill those who were never prepaired to fight....the very fact we have a presence int he middle east brings exposiure to a different way of life, the islam in the middle east is not true islam, it is the hate of kahn. true islam accepts other religions as they are.people say god is infinite, why does everyone try to make him one specific thing.

Two people aiming at each other with guns... No one dares to shoot... That was till the day when need of protection grow up into posible improvement... So now U.S.A. is going to make situation looks this way: Two people aiming at each other... one in kevlar... second without. The first put trust in his power... the second is more affraid and more dangerous from fear... Do they really want this?... Or they will finally understand that world peace means all or nothing?... Why they dont consider protecting everyone to end this social nightmare they helped to develop by creating atomic weaponary? And you dare to call for God?!... If not His protection... ... Better see clearly before next day will come... Death is no so cruel than what I know... Bear with your creation well, because... power can turn against you when you use it wrongly...
