after we surrender in Iraq, surrender to Iran? do you really think life will just go on as usual? Do you care?

no reason at all? You have an iran president vowing to nuke us. if we leave Iraq, you don't think he will just walk in and take over what's left? he all ready has a shea majority. surrendering all that land and oil to him, that's not a reason?

you idiots think this is vietnam. where we just go home, hide behind our nuclear weapon shield, lick our wounds, and go on with our lives. You are horribly mistaken. The radiacl muslims will see this "redeployment" as what it is. victory. they will get more bold. you taught them not even the might of the USA can stop them. The world is theirs for the taking. why can't you see this?

They do not care.

The would rather that the Iraqi democracy that was selected by the Iraqi people in UN certified elections be replaced with a terrorist dictatorship.

Your question outlines a common mindset that has been complicating world affairs for a long time. It has to be either A or B. If we do A then we will be happy but if we do B we are giving up and letting our lives go to Hell. With all respect, do you honestly believe that things are this simple? War needs to be an absolute last resort. I support our troops and I will say that reckless deployment of our troops, inadequate care (specifically psychological) of our troops, inadequate support of their families is not supporting our troops. On a final note, just because someone doesn't support a war, doesn't mean that they want the troops pulled out immediately. The troops need to be pulled out in a sensative manner, that will provide short and long term security in Iraq, the Region and our own National Security, three things that were blatantly ignored when we decided to invade.

I think we need to stop calling it a war and call it what it is; an OCCUPATION. Is there REALLY any way to "win" an occupation? Is there anyway the US Gov't would be satisfied with a government freely elected by the people of Iraq?

Leaving wouldn't be "surrender," IMHO, it will just make Iraq UN-occupied.

Since when is pulling troops from a foreign conflict "surrender"? And since when were we at war with Iran?

What difference will it make to Americans whether we leave Iraq? The answer is: it will make a difference to Iraqis. They will either be glad we are leaving and take over their own security, or they will be sad we are leaving and take over their own security.

If you disagree with the Iraq War or any war, in the United States you have the right to voice your opposition to that war. The urge to stifle that opposition is the real threat to America.

The (Shi'ite) majority in Iraq and (Shi'ite) government of Iraq have shown fealty to Iran from the very beginning, long before the invasion. If you were so concerned about Iranian influence in Iraq, you would have been totally against the US invasion and supported the Baathist regime. But you're too stupid to realize that.

Huh? Surrender is unacceptable, but answer me this, are we supposed to defend and fight for the Sunnis or the Shias who hate each other more than they hate us?

Before you answer think about this..
If we are to defend the Sunnis then we are defending Sadaam Hussein, Al-Qaeda, Osama Bin Laden, Taliban, Saudi Arabia, Hamas...

If we are to defend the Shias then we are supporting Hezbolah, Syria, and IRAN

Iraq, whether we like it or not, is in a civil war and are engaged in a power struggle. If anything we should be defending and protecting our troops, not people who do not want us there.

Also, why is your avatar so angry?

I get a kick out of your first answer. Care? Hell yes but they signed up for the job just as I did 30 years ago. I knew what I was getting into then and they know what they are getting into now. They want to do what's right for this country unlike the protesters who want to sit back and allow the end to come to the Iraqis.
