The North won because they were determined to fight it out. North Vietnam was not corrupt. North Vietnam wanted to re-unite both countries. South Vietnam on the other hand was the ones who were corrupt. The South Vietnamese government was full of Viet-Cong sympathizers who provided the North with everything they needed to know to be devastating, not to mention the people of South Vietnam really had no interest in being democractic in the first place.

History has taught us the the US involvement in Vietnam was a total sham. The Gulf of Tonkin incident was staged to show cause for going into Vietnam. Ho Chi Mien's only objective. initially, was to resist France's efforts to re-establish colonialism, following WWII. Granted, Ho was a communist from it's earliest inception, but that had nothing to do with his not wanting to be under the thumb of the French !

Why the US felt the need to pick up where the lowly French left off, is a mystery for the ages. Instead we allowed our anti communist mortality to perv ail . We couldn't let a piss ant country like Vietnam continue to spread communism so we fought them for another ten years, to a stalemate. Fifty two thousand American lives later, even that dumb-shiit Lydon Baines Johnson finally put two and two together and realized he had put troops in there, all for the wrong reasons.

Now, who should be holding a grudge ?

Why against Viet Nam? Our country failed us, they didnt. We were police action, not allowed to fully kick butt. Armchair generals directed out bombers and troops. Not the leaders in the field. I am not for anyone who went over there at the time and befriended the enemy. Keep in mind that the Viets were tortured by the french ong before we got there.

the north because hippies here in America decided to rebel against mommy and daddy by calling our troops baby killers ex. Jane Fonda aka Satan. here's a time line, south choose democracy , north does not approve, they start a war, they cry to us, we help, we kick ***, we continue to kick ***, the hippie's complain, we leave, the south is overtaken by the north, soldiers come home to bitching and moaning. and here we are today on the eve of the same undertaking those complaining whiners we call "activists" I know them simply as traitors!

no I don't hold a grudge but I do hold a grudge against those who betrayed our soldiers, ie they man above me for one.

One must not hold a grudge against them just because they beat us in a war.
