Yes, there are women in the US military.

No they are not in combat units, they are in combat support or combat service support units.

You will see plenty of exotic places like the sands of the middle east, or if you are lucky you might go to South Korea, so that you to can smell the turtle ditches.

OR you could go to Germany and drink some good beer.

Hope that helps.

If you are doing a research paper on the history of women in the military, you will want to start by looking up the Army womens corps. The VA also has a program for female veterans, it might be a good idea to get in touch with them for some info on what its like to be a woman in the military. You could also go on Military.com and join some of the forums to ask questions, although be prepared for a lot of... shall I say... passionately opinionated responses from people who may or may not know what they are talking about. While your there, look for information on an article I read on that site when I was deployed two years ago about the Army's attempt to let women into the infantry. Congress was the one to shoot that down.
If you have any specific questions about women in the military, feel free to email me, I would love to give you some info.

I know womens roles back in the day before they were actually part of the military, they were nurses and clerks, and they eventually let them be actual military status to get the benifits and name. today they are not able to hold combat arms jobs, but still see just as much combat depending on thier MOS(job). Military police for example get in combat just as much us. they get all the health care they need (even those doctors just for women).

Women do kinda serve a combat role in todays miltary. Army MP's and Airforce Security Forces have females that train regularly for combat. I see it everyday

people in the military can do and hold every job, just like a city, there are plumbers, electricians, truck drivers and more. They have thier own health care system..
