YES. They will probably take you, but they will make sure to put you in situations where you aren't at risk. If you lie, they will eventually find out when you are about to die during basic training.

Yes. It's stupid. It would put the recruiter through hours and hours of paperwork and effort, it would save a seat in the A and C schools that would never be used but could have been by someone else.... and it will waste the gear they prepare for you at basic training.. because you wouldn't be able to take it home with you.
The first week is in-processing, where they do medical and dental exams. Included are chest xrays... and they will know. You'll get sent home PDQ for having asthma and for lying about it. The only other option is to get medically cleared and get waivers signed... not an impossible task, but tough. If you're inhaler or medication dependent, it's not going to happen.

If it is discovered that they lie about it then they could be in serious trouble. However, if their lie is not discovered they can then later get medically discharged from the military whenever they would like if the asthma is serious and are likely to receive monetary and medical benefits from the VA for the rest of their lives.

it depends how bad it is. i have sports induced asthma but it is not bad at all. my asthma attacks are extremely mild and i only cough, i dont need an inhaler the majority of the time. if your asthma is bad and you need an inhaler, do yourself a favor and dont join because you do a LOT of strenuous excercise which can trigger an asthma attack. there really is no way of them finding out though, they cant see your prior medical record. if you do decide to lie about it, they will ask you a couple of times if you have or have ever had asthma, that is the only way they will find out.

Yes because those people ALWAYS get caught in boot camp when they have an asthma attack after running and working out all day or in the super hot or super cold weather. They don't usually make it too far into boot camp before their own body gives them up. Then they get to take a nice bus trip home forever. Yes I would say that is stupid.

There are medical records.... It is stupid for one reason mainly. If they find out you lied on an application you're screwed.
I guess it would mainly have to depend on hw bad the asthma is. I mean if the person just shows signs than it is not morally stupid against thyself, but if it's real bad you have to remember that in order to have prescription medications on hand... I am sure the military will make sure it's legal.

Yes, it is stupid. You will run all the time in the army. There is no way around it, and there is no possible way to hide asthma. It will only create a huge hassle for you and waste your time. Once they find out you will be chaptered out (booted).

It's very stupid. The consequences one would face from the military for giving false information is nothing compared to the danger they'd put their health into.

Yeah, it is stupid to do ! What's more, it could put someone in line for office hours or even a court marshall. This is deliberately misleading the government, and could result in brig duty.

yes, as this is getting in under false pretenses...if it acts up they could give them a discharge and it would not be an honorable one if they knew the candidate lied on their application with a pre-existing condition...that would cost uncle sam a lot of time and trouble.
