I believe we did what needed to be done, but also believe the mission is completed and it time for the Iraq people to fight their own war. Not sure we can just pull out but do believe it is time to start bringing out troops home.
There should be no right or wrong answers if you have a reason.

I saw on the news a couple of days ago, that protesters of the war weren't respecting the troops and wanted us to fail. Small question, where the Hell did that come from?! I mean, we want out of Iraq because we DO care for the soldiers.

How did it become, either you're for the war or against the troops?

When you hear figures like 650,000 civilian deaths, has anyone sat down and made the quick calculation of how this is possible.

650,000 deaths / (4 years x 365 days) +1 (leap year) =

445 civilian deaths every single day for the last 1460+ days....

I follow what is going on over there, and no there are a lot of bad attacks, to many to mention, but this number 650k is absoluty ridiculous....

what do you think?

My grandfather, an old Navy vet, used to use a term something like that to describe the pre-dawn time, when the sky was just starting to get light.
I may have the term slightly off, but I am sure it was at least similar. Anyone else ever heard of this and where does it come from originally?
I looked out my window this morning, thought of him, and decided to ask.
Thank you.

An Army guy is sitting at a bar wearing a shirt that says "Marines suck".

Sure enough, two marines walk up.

One of the Marines says, "WHAT DOES THAT SHIRT SAY!?!?!?!"

So the Army guy responds, "Thats the first thing I hate about Marines, they can't read."

The other Marine growles, "What did you say!?!"

The Army guy responds, "Thats the second thing I hate about Marines, they can't hear."

Then the first Marine demands that they take this outside.

Two minutes later the Army guy walks back into the bar unharmed. The bartender askes what happened to the two Marines.

The army guy responds, "Thats the third thing I hate about Marines, they bring knives to gunfights."

All in good fun, Have an awesome day and "GO ARMY"!

Israel is on an edge now. They have only two options, as far as I know, they either wait (until is too late) or they will strike at Iran.

Soldiers putting thier lives on the line every single day in Iraq and Afghanistan yet having to sleep under landrovers IN bases because of lack of accomodation and proper beds - or in a camp bed and sleeping bag combo in tents. To add insult to injury, these soldiers CONTINUE to pay accomodation and food charges out of thier wages.

Compare that to prisoners living accomodations - air conditioned, regular meals and proper rest periods - of that I am sure the UN and Red Cross etc make sure of.. and, to add insult to injury, these prisoners do not have to pay a cent for thier accomodation or food !

You get the picture here..?

Don't you think soldiers should AT LEAST get equal treatment to prisoners - ie proper rest periods, proper accomodation - after all, the Govt are docking thier wages to pay for such BASIC living standards - EVEN whilst in the theatre of war !!

Hope Gordon Browns' "promised" £400-MILLION will be put to good use for the Armed Services.. I doubt it somehow

only now in countries in western europe are people being told the truth in who actully won world war 2.The western front was nothing compared to the eastern front.Even the germans admitted after the war that it was the soviet union who won world war 2.You could fit over 30 normandy beach landings on the eastern front, thats how huge it was.The brave red army soldiers had to fight house to house, hand to hand in every city which the nazi's occupied in the soviet union, that one of the reasons why the soviets lost so many brave soldiers fighting the nazis. The whole truth is, the germans are deployed over 3 million of it's best waffen ss troops and armour and lufttafe on the eastern front, while letting conscripts to fight on western front. The bravery and courage of the red army soldiers is what caused the defeat of nazi germany.what do people think, thank god for the soviets who freed europe from the nazis.

When I think about the Iraq War which I personally support (I plan to enlist with my boyfriend when we both graduate this June in the Army) I think of what my grandparents say about the Vietnam War. First my grandparents have an uneasy relationship with each other all because of their respective Vietnam experiences. My mother's parents both met while actively demonstrating against the Vietnam War. They tell me tantalizing bits and pieces of their life style but never want to tell the whole story. For example they believed in free love and acid and some other stuff like that. When I try to ask them more they shut up and change the subject. Free love I believe is sex outside of marriage(they are married) They hated the Vietnam Veterans and my other grandfather is one who saw heavy combat. He still gets PTSD symptoms even today. Once over Thanksgiving they got into an argument and called my other grandfather a baby killer. Hell broke loose. He started to cry and had to go home.

This president with his comraddes, has taken us into a war that was based on lies. Yes Saddamm was evil, but how in the world is just conquering Baghdad gonna end terrorism in all of middle east ? The majority of our troops are in Iraq. Lesser amounts in the other countries where the terror cells are still strong and recruiting more daily We are terribly out numbered, and mismanaged. This war has already cost billions, & will cost more & more each year it lasts. Not to mention the cost in lives all over the world This man thinks he can use executive priveledge to basically run this war & country all by himself. I beleive we voted for change in '06, not so much to ruin usa, or to cut & run. But to bring a change to this endless quagmire. Yet every view different from his is shot down . Both Stalin & Hitler lost soldiers by the thousands and declared victory. I can't see a win with Bush :(
