I saw on the news a couple of days ago, that protesters of the war weren't respecting the troops and wanted us to fail. Small question, where the Hell did that come from?! I mean, we want out of Iraq because we DO care for the soldiers.

How did it become, either you're for the war or against the troops?

I understand your point, Kenneth W, but you don't understand mine. It is well known that some protesters do believe that those for the war are murderers, but I'm talking about the protesters on the other side of the lines.

The republican base has been trying to tie the fact that the democrats want out of the war, and by pairing up the dislike with the war and the same for our troops, will turn the U.S. population against the idea that the democrats are putting forward.
If anything, the U.S. majority is 100% behind the troops. The democrats are trying to save lives, by ending the war. I'm not a democrat, I'm an independent.

Everybody's for the troops, just in their own way. The left want the troops out of harms way: in their general opinion, we've done what we were supposed to in Iraq, for some of them, we shouldn't even be in Iraq. The right generally wants to keep the troops in Iraq until it is undisputed that the Iraqis have freedom and are no longer in fear of each other and the outside.

As for the question, the protesters, for the most part, want to insure safety for the troops. That's not being against them; in fact, it's far from it. It doesn't hurt them in the sense that "it helps terror", especially since the Islamic terrorists aren't ALL in Iraq, and terrorists period are all over the world. And it doesn't convey weakness, it shows care for the troops.

However, there are two sides to every story. Those calling our troops monsters, rapists and all that other madness are simply looking at the issue in a corrupted light. Our troops are only trying to help, period. When you endure what you have to over there, you can only become better or harder; many become harder, but that doesn't make them evil. Of course the same thing happened in Vietnam, it happens in EVERY war, it's one of the symptoms of war. There are some bad seeds in the military, but aren't they everywhere?

Protestors for the most part are not troop friendly. I was recently asked about my service to the country by someone who opposed the war in Iraq, and once he found out my views on the war I was called a brainwashed baby killer. I find that if you are against the war and you have served then protestors are more likely to respect you for serving, however if you agree with the war then you are looked upon as being brain washed, or just plain stupid.

Not all protestors are like that, but a vast majority of the ones I know and have met are like that.

Larry M -- your answer is inane. If you can't understand how one could be for the troops and against the war you have very little comprehension. I take it then that you are for the war. Why? Are you believing all the lies? Haven't you understood yet all the lies that your Republican government has told you or don't you care if your government lies through its teeth to you? I resent being lied to.

Michael E -- Who says they haven't. Have you?

mzmom05 -- I can see you're really into democracy and free speech.

The protesters are associated with a communist group called "ANSWER." These people advocate the overthrow the the US constitutional government and replace it with a Marxist dictatorship. The protests against the Iraq war are a means to an end. I have no sympathy for anyone that associates with an organization such as ANSWER.

you can not be for the troops but against the mission.. it is like saying..

I'm for the war but against the troops..
or

I want my child to do well, but I dont care if he fails school..

the troops see and hear everything that is said here...when they see no support for what they are doing.... they are not supported..

saying I support the troop but not the war is just a lie...

it reminds me of the group in ok. city that is standing outside of US troop funerals and laughing and cussing out the parents.. that is what is going on...

I would also point out that the the US troops coming home.. 8 out of 10 sign back up to go over to finish what was started...

myself.. let the DNC have what they want,,, pull the troops when the mass murders start in iraq.. we know why.. when the bombings in the US start... we know who to point to.. the DNC

History. You're being judged by the actions of a few and the treatment of our returning troops during the Vietnam era. It might help if the protestors against the war actually sent troops care packages to SHOW their support...

Because to be against the war is to be against the troops. The soldiers ARE the war, they bring it to the enemy and execute it. Its a simple theory. If the anti-war protesters gave a crap about the well being of the soldiers they would stop enabling the enemy by showing them we are weak, and giving the enemy cause to kill more of said soldiers by boosting their morale.
