To the people commenting about cleaning it your self or if you can't clean it "You shouldn't own one". You might want to consider this, the health impact. If you live around people with breathing issues they cannot be exposed to the fumes that cleaning solvents produce (I personally like the smell) it can cause them extreme breathing difficulties. There is also the time consideration. I purchased a 40+ year old S&W 10-4 and shot it the other day to qualify for my armed license and this guns need to be completely gone through for any internal replacement of parts and a thorough cleaning before I carry it as a duty gun. So in closing always remember that there are exceptions to the rule I don't care how well you clean it the odor from that Hopes or what ever brand of solvent you use is going to linger for awhile.

Though the above posters are correct and I agree with them in cleaning it yourself I would add that having a gunsmith clean your firearms once a year is a really good idea.
Only a trained gunsmith can completely disassemble (not just field strip) your weapon, inspect for worn or broken parts, make any replacements and adjustments as necessary, clean it (while completely disassembled) and return it to you in near mint condition.
I highly recommend it for everyone, once a year per firearm is what I do.

I have a gunsmith here who will do it for about 35 bucks.
Save the money and get a bottle of Bore Gel by Hoppes. Best cleaner I have ever used. Even my black powder buddies use it. First cleaner they have used that they didnt have to scrub the primer plug.

I've never paid for a gun cleaning. Wouldn't it be much cheaper to buy a kit and learn to clean them yourself? It's not that difficult to clean a gun.

I can do that for you, you've definatly got wing nut goo problems with it. 10k's fair ? And I'll donate it to the Hillary-Obama ticket.
Or, pay the $65 THEY ALL ask. You've got the money?
PS. Please don't ---- no, do..... "do it yourself clean", its a great idea. You didn't mention that its so dirty it won't fire, but that is the easiest to clean.

You need to learn the process for yourself.
As to guns being evil.
Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun has.

If you can't clean it....you should not own it. You need to be smarter than the tools you use.
