they used to give you a list. they had us bring stuff that they ended providing there that you end up paying for. when i went 17 years ago, they wanted you to have as little cash as possible, i think the max is like 25 bucks. If your on any kind of medication bring this, however they will probably swap it out for military prescribed meds. if you wear glasses bring those but again they will issue you military ones and no contact lenses. bring a copy of birth certificate, marraige cert, court decrees, some stamps however they issued us a "ditty bag" that had stationary. pens, pencils, and some stamps. They issued us a chit book that looked like monopoly money and you bought things from the px with that like soap and stuff. Your recruiter should give you a list of what to bring...and they will go through your stuff for drugs, cigs, porn, candy, junk like that and they will have you mail you civilian clothes home or they used to. hope this helps but its been awhile for the ole Chief. Keep you head up, on straight and you'll be fine...good luck..

Don't bring anything except 50 bucks in cash. You will be provided everything. If you have prescription meds make sure you have enough to last the 8 weeks. Other than that enjoy!!

Your Recruiter should have provided you with a list of what to bring. As well as a list of what NOT to bring. MOST of what you need you will be issued or be BUYING as they will want you all the have the same thing.

If your Recruiter has not provided you with a list, REQUEST ONE.

You don't need to bring anything. Uncle Sam [the Navy] provided everything you will need including a uniform. Thank's for protecting our country . . .

a tube of k y jelly, a toothbrush, and a rope for the soap. or you could save your rectum the pain and go army. many people say marines are the best, but then again, the marines is the navy, so make life easy and go to the army. but in all seriousness.....when you get to basic training, they will give you a smart card with so much money on it. you can use it at the p.x. to buy the **** you need. then they take that money out of your first paycheck.
