My hubby just came home today from Iraq on r and r and he's in bed now sleeping. He's been very tired due to the time change, long long flight etc. He went to bed at 8 am and I went with him but got back up at about 9 because I just wasnt tired. He was also majorly sleep talking stuff that is obviously Iraq based stuff. It makes me worry about him. I don't want him to think he's in Iraq when he's sleeping. I want him to feel happy and safe in bed. I also want to be with him but I just couldn't sleep and needed to get up. I'm so used to being by myself and not going to bed till midnight 8am is so early!

Today he was driving and was scaring me a bit because of how he was nervous with stuff (BAG) was in the road. I just want to give him support. I hate that he is going to have to leave again in 2 weeks. UGH. He only has 6 months left over there unless he gets extended. I've missed him so much and am so happy he's home. We have had a great day together.

I notice they are burning effigies of Bush and the soldiers. Do you think congress ought to summon our fighting men and women to congressional hearings and cut off all funding except for earmarked funding for transportation costs home for all the troops to answer a summons to congressional hearings, could that work in getting our boys and gals home and out of Bushes insanity?

I guess my predicament is this, I am all set to join the Army and will be taking the ASVAB and getting my physical next week. I know what job I want and everything. Well I started talkin to my buddy who just got back from Iraq, he's a marine and just talkin to him makes me want to join the Marine Corps, I wanna be like him and I want to go take the challenge. But I'm not sure if that's a good idea.

It was always in the back of my mind to join the corps but I got convinced by the army recruiter and now I feel like I'm making a mistake.

What do you all advise me to do?

Follow my heart into the corps or just go with what I was doing the army.

I see videos of people riding in the back of F/A-18's and they cannot breathe or stay awake, while the xperienced pilot is talking easily. Does it take practice, or is it just whether or not you can do it. What types of things can i do to simulate g forces. Will hangin upside down do anything? I am very interested in this and hope to be a fighter pilot. I am in good very good shape and can hold my breath for a bout 2 minutes underwater...will any of this help?

Even if our current administration sucks, there's an evil that needs to be fought. I mean, how is not Al-Quaeda and their threats and motives not parallel to those of the Nazis?

When we talk about how Bush entered this war unilaterally and with fabricated evidence do we forget about things like this? This is from 10 countries that felt it was time for action.Even the French and the Germans felt that Sadam was harboring Weapons of mass destruction but felt that he should be given another chance to comply.

How is it, that when any country declares war on another all criminal proceedings are dealt with through the War-Crimes Tribunal, but when the U.S. declares war on Terrorism, therefore on Terrorists, the U.S. gets to decide what is and isn't legal?
War is War, right, therefore if we really are at war with Terrorism and Terrorists then shouldn't they be afforded the same rights as any other soldier in war-time?

I prefer that civilians answer this questions if they don't know anyone in the military. This is for my term paper, and I need to know the thoughts of civilians on how they think military dependents are raised.

----- I'm writing an argument paper. Born and raised in the military life, I already have enough experience to write about my life as a dependent. I need opinions from the civilian POV (either good or bad) so that I can write about their standpoint. Please, this is an argument paper. If you have to, BE BRUTALLY HONEST!

My husband is currently deployed to Afgan. for the year. When he returns he will only have a year left before he can get out of the army. He is infantry. This is also his 2nd deployment. He has been in the service for 6 years now. If he was to decide not to re-enlist....what other careers could he concider? He loves doing the whole front line-security thing. Anyone have any ideas?
